Or were they just made mad harder with no extra reward?
Orc lord drops Doomslayer [1] for sure. Bapho (Possibly) drops MG [1] and RSX Ice Pick [1]
Those are just rumored though

Dark Lord is supposed to drop Bone Helm [1].
Unfortunately, doesn't look like it.
RSX Ice Pick [1]
I don't think he's even dropping it on kRO yet.
I think on doddlers future wiki there was also an increase of droprates included for bapho, rsx and dark lord, but this entry was removed, so not sure if its true.
Confirmed. The old MVPs don't have their drops updated. I got a dumb regular MG from Bapho.

It was rumored at one point that the mvps got new drops, and ragnagate seems to still list them along with their old counterparts, but I eventually found no conclusive evidence to back up the claim and removed it from the wiki. :(
what's the point of making the MVPs harder so you need to take more people to kill them, if they don't even drop any better loot..

Gravity is trying to emphasize the MMO in MMORPG, or lack thereof.

I like the idea of working as a team to MVP, but if the rewards are crap, who is gonna bother? If it's not even worth it to organize and go MVP then Gravity isn't really doing anything to emphasize the MMO in MMORPG.

More people will now bother actually because now others have a better shot at getting MVP.

I think it's actually a good thing, because it will leave more mvps open to the general population instead of most of the MVPs being held down by a small group of people. This small group might review the old mvp drops as not worth the effort, but I can gurantee you there are loads of people that'll be more than happy to Split a Safety Ring by 6.
Like Orc Lord, usually easily killed and camped by either a single champ or a duo with HP + anything, now you have a fair shot at killing Orc Lord with a bigger, but weaker party (because he'll actually be possible to find) whereas the single killer or duo will have a hard time because of EQ.
Like the old MVPs can't be solo'ed anymore...

I can confirm I've gotten two normal bonehelms from DL since 11.2.

Especially since alot of these mvps are now easier for people with GTB and GR, it will definitely tilt the advantage in favor of the general population.

Just what I always wanted from this game - to get a party together for Bapho so that I can get an item that is worse than something I can buy for a few bucks.
Sounds like a plan.

Aww, c'mon Eric, the point of RO is to have fun, not to nitpick everything. I always have more fun in giant ridiculous parties than duo ones; I think it'd be fun to go rape Bapho in a huge party. MVPing isn't really about the drops for me. (Not that I'd complain about GETTING drops...)

But who's to say that doing things solo can't be fun? While I'm not on the boat with bombing/fisting solo-jobs, I did alot of fun solo work with RSX on my sage. Now I can only drop him to half health before he starts dropping EQ and heals while I'm dead. I lost alot of the fun I had with those changes to him.

Oh wow, you still play, Luno?
I'm glad you do.
I think that in general they want ppl to party when mvping. However, they have deliberately not buffed everything so some mvps will require more of certain classes but others can still be solo'd or require minimal parties. I think that strikes a balance between encouraging partying whilst not creating a situation where non-elites cannot mvp anything.
Some of the mvps which got buffed significantly but got no good new drops has made me re-evaluate whether it is even worth it for certain ones.

It wont make it easier, but with mvps generally meaning more work for the same drops, chances are that more MVPs will actually be up for grabs for any random mvp/guild event party.
And OL was probably a bad example as the said GR's and GTB might be used to aquire that doomslayer of his.

I have had some fun with big parties for things like Vesper or Keil D-01, but making something like Orc Hero that hard to kill is just pointless. There have been a number of times that I've been leveling in West HOrcs before going to work or school and I kill him on another character just so that I can level in peace. The option to solo or duo him is essentially gone with Earthquake in the mix and, especially on a server like Iris, it's hard to find a party that would want to kill him or even wait for another guild to get together and do it.
IT'S ALL ABOUT CONTEXT! If I want to get a big party together and kill something, by all means, make it worth it. Even though we never got Vesper Cores, it was fun as hell. Dying 10 times to get an Orcish Emblem and have some pinoys loot my Light Epsilon would just make me want to quit the game.

I don't think its so bad... it hurt a bit at first but once I figured out a solid strategy RSX and lord and such became easy to do still in a duo. You just have to change your strategy up a bit. :)

Its pretty easy... first time they cast quake you have to warp. But with bapho, RSX, and Orc Lord cast it almost always while chasing. You just kite them around for a few seconds, wait for them to start casting, walk off screen, bam, they can't cast it for another half a minute, usually more than enough time. Rush in and rape them.

Who cares about the drops, now bloody branches might actually do more damage than normal DBs.

I think dark lord was ridiculously hard for a weak reward (c'mon, why couldn't they slot the bone helm? ;() but orc hero and orc lord are fun to do in a group. Earthquake requires you to bring along more people to sponge up the damage, and orc hero is almost just like he always was, you just need a heftier tank and somebody to cast safety wall.
The strategy we put together for easy orc lord killing is bring along around 8-ish people (MS monk to tank, HP, minstrel with magic strings, and multiple ranged attackers such as sinx and high-level bolter scholar, but not a regular GR-less wizard) and just spam high damage attacks as fast as you can. EQ is easily outhealed with this many people even without GRs and other uber-expensive gears, and orc lord will barely put a dent in the tank. The only casualty we had was the wizard (hence why I suggest against it) who dropped to EQ twice, which was all the time orc lord had to cast it. Basically, you just need people with over 4K HP and an attack that won't pull OL off the tank and he's easy peasy for the average player.

Hero doesn't earthquake, he got clashing spiral. I still see ppl killing them on iris with 3 ppl parties.
I still duo OL, DL, OH, osi(old geezer got harder :(), drac, drake, stormy, hatii, gloom. Just have to spam more SW.
I like 17k acidbombs on OL too, makes me never lose against chems when I go with champ.

Alot of people didnt bother with bapho anyway... he's such a pain to get to...
And DL was only worth killing because he got in the way, not because of his drops... now he's even more annoying, and the drops still are crap.
