Just wondering, is there anyone here a melee biochemist? I know AD rocks and everything, but I just want to get to know the melee sideof biochemist.

ShoeIace (Tigre on these forums) is a battle biochem. Check out the battlechemist thread!!

then I guess I wonder if there is actually any criting melee biochem :o
You dont really need luk for critting as biochem.
Morriganes set and this new silver shotel give enough crit for a decent critrate.
My girlfriend has a 91 battle biochem, ill ask her later what build/equip she uses :)
She uses a filir as homunculus.

Shoelace with an L, actually :D I got the original, yay!
Don't have a crit biochem, but yeah, crit is pretty much moot these days anyways, and even so, like was already mentioned, Morrigane's makes up for it well and you can distribute your stats elsewhere.
I assume this wouldn't be for PvP/WoE, either.

Oh, thought I saw somebody use the I instead of an L. My bad.

I joke about using ShoeIace to make an AB biochem just to confuse people XD
I think you should do it. I'm sure it'd confuse a lot of people.

it's not, it's pure pvm cause I enjoy lvling and watching something grows. I will always be a LK at heart, but then I still enjoy playing with pets ^o^

I have one and I don't like it. It doesn't feel like I'm using its full potential. You don't really get any fun new battle skills as a Biochem, iirc. :/

I think stitus had a melee biochemist and some biochemist was melee too but he was vit and I not seen him since they added acid bomb skill.

I think there is a lot of hidden protential with melee crit + pet and and merc. I know, I know, there is no need for crit when there is ice pick so to speak, however I just don't agree with that in this case. It's true that ice pick do wonders to high dif targets, but what about those that aren't high def nor low def? Moreover, with a pet fighting next to you, you will be able to kill anything at any time at a stable rate, so farming can become easier in some way I believe. Plus I can solo, cause I enjoy soloing ;)
Nearly all biochems were melee before acid demo...The few who weren't and tried to build for AD had horrible dex so they don't count as an AD build.

I have a Melee Biochemist with 120 STR, 130 with Blessing. She rebirthed exactly when that patch came out. I couldn't wait for Acid Bomb to come out so I settled for a Melee FS Biochemist instead.
She has decent DEX, mid AGI for leveling and mid VIT for HP and DEF in WoE. Your typical Alchemist hybrid with STR.
My guild loved her because she's a dedicated Slim Pitcher and Full Coater slave. From time to time I'd kill some High Wizards and Assassin Crosses while they're stun. Especially with my Lif having Mental Charge activated and Miranda's AI, it works wonders. And with Lif's Urgent Escape I can easily go around coating people quickly.
But personally, I think it's a mistake. Biochemists are preferred to take the Acid Bomb path.

Preferred -- yes. But what other choice is there for biochem, really?
Even priests can go ME/TU as opposed to FS.
Idk, I enjoyed playing my battle biochem in siege...My role was not so much to kill people (although in many circumstances, I could and did) as it was to break as many equips as I could, which can really give your guild an advantage in tight situations.
I later started playing with summoning parasites in various situations which also proved to be helpful to my guildmates.
This stuff challenged me and made me use the character in a creative way that I found enjoyable...I don't suppose I "fully utilized" the character in accordance to the extra skills given (really, I was just an alchemist with more HP/SP and a third of the exp gain 8D), but in the face of no other choices, I think it's a perfectly viable one.

Just have fun with it, don't worry about how "useful" you are. :)
