Alright, so I stumbled upon a seemingly useless card combo, but it seems it may have a use, and I'm wondering if anyone has tried it out~~
The Aster, Crab, Shell Fish card combo, all 3 go into weapons and add atk +5 and +30% dmg on aster, crab, shell fish monsters, but when all together, it also adds a +30% damage on water property monsters.. my question is, will this 30% increase work with magic? if it does, imagine this combo+ a hillwind card in a 4s rod... /slur for ice caves

No. Unless it says a +matk, or +whatever % on a spell, always assume that it is physical damage. Gravity is dumb like that.

Doesn't the sign work with magic though? (I've still yet to complete that fucking quest in my three years on this game.) If it does, wouldn't that mean this is possible, or am I missing something?

The sign gives +5% ATK and +5% MATK

No, the sign is +5% physical and +5% magical damage. Most weapon card effects are +% physical only.
+atk and +matk would mean something subtly different (but extremely important!)

It's 5% physical damage, the kind of 5% race/TG/size/etc cards are, in other words not attack.

However it is +5% matk.
