Because combat knife doesn't do any damage, and 10% off an asura isn't going to help me live when I take 20k.

I don't think my build is cookie cutter at all. That build was one of a kind until all the new smiths surfaced. Don't forget I was one of the first 99s (and 70s) around. Until recently I didn't know anyone but myself had 99 base str and most people even said I was stupid for getting it. Hardly cookie cutter imo.

changed my mind on valk gear though, but the only reason is for indestructible armor and 20% resists on shield. :D

Well, we already discussed my position on CK, hehe. However I will emphasise that this build [at the time it was created] was actually rather unique. Higher Dex on Mastersmiths wasn't popular, and people did criticize 130 Str, or having 99 base Str at that. However, I'm a huge fan of being able to easily access 130 Str [aside from the fact of having access to Megings], which doesn't prevent you from switching to a Hiding Ring to use Hide anyways. Builds like this haven't really become "popular" until recently based on what I've seen so far.

Anyways in short, I find that I highly agree with your decisions on it.

If that's really Willyboy, that's iRO Chaos and he'd gotten 1 Orc Hero Card that I know of. I never saw anything about a second one which makes me think that it's a shoop a little.

Never had a problem with not dodging them.

I only use buckler for WoE and also buckler is good if you can't dodge or your mobbing.

If he's leveling by mobbing for Jup parties that looks like a great build to me. It's okay enough STR for leveling with mobbing potential that build has, too - 1 more revo or so wouldn't hurt that badly if your mobs are bigger.

Well.. yeah, my str on bs is pretty low, like i said, we dont have much bs's / ws's on bRO and i didnt had someone to halp me with build things at first, i was an ME High priest before, so my knowledge on melee classes was about zero, the blacksmith was just a fun char and i made it my main beacuse it too fun lvl it up *-*~

And my ws will have 99 str, i'll try to close this str as soon as i put 38 dex and 32 agi, so i'll buy a guillhotine and die at bathoryes @@

acutally i had your str at your level. maybe the same vit, but just less agi (which i put into luk instead). its not until lvl 95 that i decided to add more str into my build. it does make a difference in leveling speed when i put on the sign.

'Cause it's easier to level, of course ;p. Everyone is making bards/dancers nowadays just because there's always parties looking for it in places like bio3. Also, most of braziians are lazy and semi-afk leveling seems nice to almos everyone.

I'm just sad that I wanted to make my bard a long time ago, but I'll have to make it now, and I'll look like I'm going with the flow. Just like my alchie. Sux =\

I say drop the DEX to 28 or 18 unless you already have more than 28. The INT is nice, but if you've got a buff slave with anything more than Mag 1, you can do without it. Oh yeah and unless you're going to WoE on it, that VIT isn't necessary. You can drop it, especially if you're only really looking to mob baths, to about 40 or 50, and raise your AGI to help with the initial mobbing. Fleeing stuff that catches up to you so you don't flinch is so nice compared to having a ton of VIT to tank their puny damage (The same can be said for High Orcs, except for the occasional Smite Stun).

Also - if you're going to make an Orc Lady weapon, do a Double Smashing Bloody Flam Mace or Axe. Triple Smashing is SO two years ago.

This was my build and it worked out great - once you're over about 80 or 85, you shouldn't have to worry about dying due to stun. Whether it was Hammerfall in Sphinx 4 or HOrc Smites, I didn't die from stunning once. If I could do it again, I would have gone with less AGI (80ish) and INT (<10) and pumped STR so that I could reach 130 with buffs.

@rlw: nice DEF! :> If you can still revo them in the same amount, why not stack DEF? :D Sexy screens you got.

Hmmmm I think that with Blacksmiths, you should decide on your own whether or not you need int in accordance with how you level. My smith has 19 base int and whenever I'm soloing on her, it's easy to mob since I hardly ever run out of SP, and when I'm mobbing with priests, often they'll run out of SP before I do. (lol)

If you run the math on a smith with 1in and one with 19int the deffernce is very minimal, but you are right its up to everyone to decide. In my smiths case i only run out of sp when all i do is mob and the cart revo away. If i was mamoing i'd never run out of sp either

surely you have a weilding mask no? if not, its probably the simplest you can get.

If you have enough Flee for them, Hill Winds shouldn't be that costly, but if you aren't to that point yet, their aspd really hurts and it might be worth it to take 1~2 hits and spend 540z on mammo.

i leveled my high merchant there. i didn't really look at the exp/h, but it was definately over 1m/hr.
took me 2 days from level 45 to 70, and cost about 8m (including fresh fish), without looting. the loot is nice, though, and might halve the costs.

I shared my wife's merchant high there on my acolyte high during the double EXP event week we had on euRO, and we made it from 1/1 to job 50 in 2 days. We started leveling there at base 50(no slave btw), and reached over 1m/h EXP in share, so pulling 1m+/h on a blacksmith shouldn't be a problem.

Well, I was going for max High Speed Cart Ram--it does more if you load your cart up with red potions--and I quit before I got all the prereq skills. With pushcart 4 my cart weighs more and I do more damage also.

In my opinion, Blacksmiths are some of the most versatile melee classes. So many leveling options, so many awesome ways to do damage.... I love all the different ways my Blacksmith can assist in parties and even duoing with a priest or my husband soul linker. (Main killer, party buffer, storage for extra supplies, mobber, back-up mob control, I've even played healer to a battle priest. XD)

Let's all petition for Gravity to change the Blacksmith job to Awesomesmith job. ;_; (knotreally but I call my smith an awesomesmith, ho ho ho~)

I missed maybe 30% of my hits? I was only going for a little bit of exp, so it wasn't that much of an issue, but if I had the money to do it as a serious levelling method, I'd probably want to make something like a +10 3x1x vadon mastersmith axe for the hit. Not sure. I'd need to do that calcs.

Never lost my endow/buffs except when I'm to lazy to go back to my buffslave for assumptio and end up dying to a mob that I couldn't outpot or get stunned from

I'm usually always in ID3 now. For the cost it's better than CT HO I think. I use my wifes HP for ass/buff parked by the door, and a linker to get AAR / marriage SP, then wing around mammoing. Sometimes I throw random "buff" parties and invite people in party for the AAR. DD sins with nearly 180 aspd and Weapon Perfection is pretty sick. But, it's fun and makes the time go by faster. : )

Pretty much the only way I could find to always two shot a titan is bless/endow with 140 STR (g-bay food ftw?) a extra/porcellio armor and MPT. Then average damage bottoms out at 19,500'ish per HSCR with 48 base dex.

It actually does decent damage, too. IIRC I was doing 2.4k a revo hit to a HO with endowed +4 guillotine, and around 5.4k mammo. It's an awesome weapon to carry around. Revo one bathory mob and your SP is full again. : D

<- 3k to HOs, <- 1700 to Arcolouze. Average damage to an archer is 725 per melee hit or 3.2k(iirc) mammo.

And yeah, it does still work on anything for the +2 SP per hit +20 SP per kill. I used it in galions for some time. : )
It also works to regain 2 SP per "hit" off of a whiper in UG, even if it isn't endowed and missing.

My wife was slaving me, and with the ATK gear I could one shot a lexed Archer, rather than 1 mammo + 2 melee hits. It saved a lot of time. When I use it solo, I always use DEF gear and avoided archers. : )
I rarely get slaved, so I decided to go all out and wear all the ATK gear I could find. xD

Porcellio is a armor card that adds +25 ATK (impo basically) -5 DEF. It's pretty neat for some stuff. I got it for my champ, his mvp gear def is like 20. lol : (
If you want to sure. I plan on using it as a h.merch to j50 quickly then probably go back to ID3, so you can try it out then. :O

It's not really...... unless you live in Thanatos tower ever since you trans this would be about the average. My minstrel was job 58 when he turned base 90, but he lived in stings until about level 88/89. My priest was 90/54 with a majority of Abyss3 leveling, with some TT.

With having a high merch change at 69/50, you're not gonna get much higher than job 56 maybe unless you're being leeched in thanatos, and possibly now thors.

The base:job ratio in ID3 is kind of crappy. It's really amazing Base exp and just okay job. That's nothing you can't patch up right away in bios with a nice wiz spawn and Wind Unfro, though. Amirite?

It was worth it!

The merchant was created on Wednesday, so the results are satisfying for now. Couldn't play on Wednesday yet anyway so 1 day and a half for job 50 at the cost of 8000 Fresh Fish, 50-100 White Potions, 1000 Fly Wings, and a ridiculous amount of endows thanks to High Orcs' stunning Shield Charge >_>. Oh and 3m for Mammonite, lol.

It was worth it!

The merchant was created on Wednesday, so the results are satisfying for now. Couldn't play on Wednesday yet anyway so 1 day and a half for job 50 at the cost of 8000 Fresh Fish, 50-100 White Potions, 1000 Fly Wings, and a ridiculous amount of endows thanks to High Orcs' stunning Shield Charge >_>. Oh and 3m for Mammonite, lol.

Level 69 a great number and also my favorite number <3

The blacksmith guild in Einbroch makes the quest a real pain in the ass. Would have taken me a lifetime without my buffslave(warp>airship) to finish the quest.

I've found that with my HP friend slaving me in Rachel 4, it's not only pretty good exp-- it's very fun. (Okay, so the monsters take forever to kill and it can be dangerous.) Still, it was kind of fun to find 6 berets in a half hour. :> Still waiting on more HFS so I can try to +7 a pair. >:|

A bit unsure if getting higher than 89 base Str is worth it in the end. I would need a total of 130 Str(or 120 Str, The Sign, Masquarade) to kill HOs in 2 Cart Revos instead of the current 3 Cart Revos. I first planned to have 99 base Str, but at the moment it seems 89 will do the trick, and I'll be better off going for more Vit.

But, I like AGI builds, but I'm thinking in make another WS, this one only 4fun, no vit =D
