Origin of Character name?

Wow, I'm surprised nobody has came up w/ a thread like this. Well, I'll go first.

My main Atm is c0wsie, I came across this name after taking a break at 04 and starting again in 06 then I made a new account, I was drinking milk at the time while making my new character. I was totally stumped and the ones i did like and try were already taken. So i pondered and pondered until my eyes hit my milk and thought.. cowsie? I tried cowsie at first but it was taken, so then with a change of letter to number I got c0wsie. That's my story.

Oh and if your wondering, you could do your main + alts if your really bored and it could be short and sweet or make it a freaking long adventure.
So yeah, just remember back then. :D

I wanted to make a more knight-like knight than night_blade (knights shouldn't suck as bad as he did), and I was lazy so I named him night_knight.

Before the name change, I let my friend name my character and so it became "Pa-chan". She thought it was adorable. At that time, I really didn't care about the name. However, after living with that name for 3 years and wanting to change it forever, I realized I had to make something so people could still recognize me.

Math class -> "Pa.rabola".

[Iluvatar]

Eru Ilúvatar is Arda's god at Tolkien's books. Elves know him just for Ilúvatar (meaning father of everything). Who actually chose this name was my friend, while we're trying to create a "exorcist" priest (it was earlier when we started playing, so we didn't know anything about builds lol). After trying a lot of things comming from Exorcist: The Begginnig movie, he saw The Silmarillion book and remembered this name.

As for Delirium, it was a mix of a random music I can't remember right now, some stupid videos and a Pepsi's overdose. And I thought it sound cool, so yeah. Gotta use the dot 'cause there already was a char named Delirium.

The knight I was supposed to do would be named Benawi, a character from the anime called Utawarerumono. But there was already someone with this nick, and I totally don't know what name I should use. =\ Cannibal Anthem wouldn't be good, right?

Firefly* - A song by Breaking Benjamin. Not among my favourite bands but when I created her I had had so many hunters I was desperately seeking something new. My previous hunter was called Juiceflow, so she had quite a reputation to live up to. :p
Vacant - Beautiful song by my favourite band, Dream Theater.
Breathe - A song by The Prodigy.
Anna Lee - Another song by Dream Theater.
acidjazzed evening - I don't know much about the origins of the song but it's a sweet instrumental track my friend sent me.
Pristine - Ironic name for a Dancer, also based on "Pristina" by Faith No More.
Euphoria - Partly "holy crap, this name isn't taken!", partly based off the line "euphoria fixation" in a Dream Theater song.
And that's just for Sakray. I think I have the name anonymous-chan on either Chaos or Loki. I was gonna make her my vend merch. :3 Other names I have on the main servers would be SkyIine, Disintegration, Sunna & Idolize. I'm surprised those names weren't taken to begin with.

I have a couple of accounts, and many characters, some of them half-remembered, but here goes...

My Battlesage is named Pepper' cuz while she's not so powerful as a true melee character, nor as powerful as a wiz, she's perky and hot on the tongue... or something,,... well, I like the name, so there. Side-note, her party name is always "Power & Soul" bcus of her strong melee and above average magic damage.

My magic ninja is named Yukino' - from the anime karekano. Just a nice name. I think it has something to do with "snow" in Japanese, which is appropriate cuz she's primarily an ice type.

My alchemist is named Daenerhys, from a book in the Song of Ice and Fire series by Gearge RR Martin. Again, just a nice name I came across, though its supposed to mean "dragon reborn" or something similar...or maybe that was just how the story went...

My assassin is named Chibisuke - after a dragon in the kid's anime "Dragon Drive". It means "runt" or "little kid".

Hadas (Wizard) is my Hebrew name. A hadas is the branch of a myrtle tree and is one of the four species used during the special waving ceremony on the Jewish holiday of Sukkot. It represents a person who possesses good deeds but does not study Torah.

Dakarah (Assassin) is a grammatically strange conjugation of the Hebrew verb for "(to) stab" accepting a singular feminine noun.

Blackwell Corporation (Brewer Alchemist) is named for Emily Blackwell, one of the first women in the world to receive an M.D.

Aryeh (Knight) Hebrew word for "lion". This is actually a male name, but I think it sounds cool, so I use it anyway.

Nazirah (Battle Acolyte) refers to the Nazirites, a class of Jewish ascetics.

Rabbi Hadas (FS Acolyte) should be self-explanatory. I felt that being that I am a Jew but not a Jewish priest and there being no way for me to become one, using the title "priest" is inappropriate. Anyone can be a rabbi however, and so.... Yeah.

Meiji is an old, old nickname of mine that has very little to do with the candy company/emperor/shrine. On an old set of forums I used to go to, my nickname was "Mage Goddess," and my friends there called me Mage, or Magee... but Magee can be read like Maggie, so my friend came up with Meiji for me and it just sort of stuck.

FunkaticOne - First character, noob name 'cuz I'm too cheap to change it to anything else. I had no idea you could use spaces and the like for names back almost 3 years ago. I'll change it once I 99 or something.

Ethereal Phoenix - Ethereal with heavenly/celestial in mind, phoenix 'cuz they're awesome. It is made of fire, rebirth, and ownage... basically.

Autumn Merit - In-game wife's alchemist was named Winter Harvest, I think after Tales of Symphonia. Another friend of ours wanted to make an alchemist as well, so the three of us decided upon Autumn Merit and Spring Annex. Different seasons, somewhat similar last names... blah blah blah.

Moonlit Petal - 'Cuz she's ME, and... delicate or something. I liked the white hair, so I needed something to match it. Seemed okay to me, so... it's kinda obvious. o_o

Adrienne Pixie - In-game wifey liked the name, so I looked it up on the intarweb. It's a French name, which is ultimately the feminine form of a masculine Roman name of a city and emperor. I dug it, so we stuck Pixie on the end 'cuz... Super Novices are... fairies... I guess. o_o

Odelia Pixie - Not only is is pleasant to say... it's also full of nunly awesomeness. Based off an old German masculine name that meant "wealth/fortune", some nun who was supposedly blind was baptized and gained sight in the 8th century. SO IT'S A GIRLY NAME... it just has rich connotations... I think. Since this Super Novice was gonna be a vendor, it sorta fit.

Adrienne and Odelia are like cousins... or something.

As I was thinking of a named starting with MER, Meroko popped up as full moon wo sagashite was a hot manga at that time (but got dropped soon), and since it was dropped for a while, I forgot the real name of Meroko and named Mereko instead.

All my other characters were based around a nickname my father had when he was a surfer. Since i started surfing, i've used it. It's Pato, duck in portuguese.

Thyrial Shadowwalk - Name of a character I designed a LONG time ago. His story is rather long so to put it simply he was a half elven assassin with the ability to basically turn his emotions off and on as well as the inherited family ability to walk through shadows. He's always been my favorite out of the many characters I've created so I tend to use his name for games and such. Also seemed fitting for my sin/sin x chars.

Carca Varethwa - Only sin I've made NOT named Thyrial and is actually the name in Quenya for Thyrial's sword. It means Fang of Vareth or Vareth's Fang.

Syrus Darkblade - Another character I created long ago. A human mercenary who was originally a knight. He later became a king though it was mostly just a title because he was only king cause he married the queen and she wasn't about to let him take over lol. Also was my favorite character before I really developed Thyrial so it's a char I always have a soft spot for.

Damien Shadowfist - Really just made the name mostly out of the blue. Though at the time me and my (at that point) fiance had been discussing names for if we had a boy and we both liked Damien so I had it on my mind.

Tyrian Angelblade - My ME priest... Tyrian I just randombly picked but Angelblade was a family name in a bit of an RO story I had been wroking on about my Crusader which was name Azrael Angelblade. There were 3 brothers in the family... Azrael, Tyrian and Damien (a combo monk I once had) all of which served the church in different ways.

Rest of my names are mostly random or are Quenya for (Something) of Vareth.

Eclipse was already my nickname (for untold reasons) some years before i've to surf the net. Then, when i had my first chance to go to chat rooms and use IM to chat with my friends, i decided to use the same nick i've already had. However, in the first chat room i went, Eclipse was already taken as a nick. So what i did? just put Eclipse1. And that is the stupid story... so far since that moment i've always had Eclipse1 as my nick. Some people refer me as "Eclipse" and ignore the 1, but remember, that is part of the nick as well.

Nikki Slash: from Chrono Cross. The character was a guitarist, so I thought it would fit for my Bard. "Nikki" was his name on the US version, and "Slash" on the JP version.

Ianthe: Violet flower. The name also has ties to Greek mythology.

ZeroCrash = my original character, Crash is a nickname cause I crashed into a stationary truck while going down a hill on my bike, Zero just cause I like the sound of it and multiple other things.

Lupus Redomo = Wolf Tamer roughly in latin, I created the name after the announcement of homunculus in RO. I just kinda chose words that seemed sorta appropriate for an alchemist and after translating them and coming up with different things, I chose that as the name.

b/ Xellie - I used to take part in an RPG, like I donno.... 5 or 6 years ago? My character was Xelloss (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xellos) from Slayers (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Slayers). I was asked to do that because I apparently I acted like him before I'd even seen the anime. The nickname stuck D:

"Condoleezza" and "Pedo-bait" are my favorites so far.

Lutz-sensei: like, two years ago I tried naming my mage "Lutz" (the wizard from Phantasy Star, first rpg I ever played), but it was already taken so I had to add a suffix. I still have the character to this date (it's a HW now), but also made a few variations afterwards: Lutz Inverse (battle sage), Lutz Analogue (super novice) Lutz Memory (AGI wiz and also the name of an item from Phantasy Star 4). After the merge in bRO I was finally able to create a character named Lutz ^^ (it's an Esma SL).

Changed it to Marisa` on Chaos and when I came back from Chaos. Marisa is from Touhou. And I am not Marisa- the monk from EA.

Mireille Elric - lol. I don't really want to explain this one. Kudo's to anyone who guesses what class this character is. I wanted to get a name change, but Gravity won't let me because someone else is using the e-mail address I used to register my account.

Einstelle - short for Einstellen, which is short for sich einstellen. Since it's not a Japanese name, it's not cool for RO : (

Saatchi - as in Saatchi & Saatchi, the advertising company. They make some of my favourite commercials.

Clarisse - I got Clarice stuck in my head after watching Silence of the Lambs but I liked how Clarisse looked, and Clarice was taken anyway.

Samaire - My first female character so I was panicking trying to figure out how to come up with a feminine, lesser-known name. Then I remembered Samaire Armstrong who used to be on The O.C.

Winterland - A New Zealand band.

Xavierre - Named after a friend.

Aquarium - Heather's TKM is Goldfish, so naturally my TKM should be Aquarium.

Garfunkel - Named after Art Garunkel from Simon & Garfunkel.

Uhm... I really liked comics as a kid, and I still have an extensive collection packed away in storage. I liked the super heroes' nicknames, like batman was the Dark Knight, etc etc. So I came up with a Color + Action pattern for the characters. I usually create my own character names, but in RO i decided otherwise.

IronChair - From an old PS 1 game, Legacy of Kain. I found the way he said Iron Sword, Iron Armor extremely amusing. I then wondered how it would sound like if he said Iron Table or Iron Chair even.

Iolaus - No, not the version from mythology who was Hercules's eromenos. He's my favourite character from the TV show Hercules who was played by Michael Hurst. I felt the role of a rogue suited him best.

Asclepius - Greek demigod of medicine/healing. Figured since one character was based off greek myth, why not my potter as well?

Sir Hikaru - Based off my real name, just in japanese.

[Inferno Nightblade]

Simply put, I like fire, and my character's surnames are often symbolic of their jobs.

My main (Inferno Nightblade) comes from the fact that he was originally a gank rogue, and is now a sword stalker. (Hence, his last name - he uses daggers.)

Lessee...Blazerunner, I thought sounded cool. It's not his "real" name - it's something he'd use to perform (he's a bard), but yeah.

Phoenix Pyre...Phoe was my first main - one of my friends on Gaia Online (stfu i was moar weeaboo back then) introduced me to the game. My Gaia name is Phoenix Goliathane - which is a portmanteau of two of my old Internet aliases (Phoenix Rising and Goliathan), so I reused the name when I made my first character on RO. After people complained it was hard to contact me, I changed the last name to something easier to spell.

Whitey Black...He has white hair, and he's a blacksmith. HURR HURR HURR.

Hurricane Fury...Originally, this guy was a monk - hence why I gave him the surname "Fury." Plus, you know you're going to get your ass kicked when a dude named Hurricane Fury rolls up. When I remade him into a priest, I kept the name.

Firestarter Black...I like the name Firestarter, and I gave him the same last name as my smith because they're supposed to be brothers. (Originally, it started out as a gunslinger named Firestarter Nightblade - my stalker's brother - but then I got bored of gunner.)

Ryuujin Anei...Back when ninjas came out, a lot of my friends made ninjas with the last name "Anei." (Shadow, I believe, in Japanese.) I joined the boat, and his first name translates to "Dragon King," I believe. hurr hurr hurr. I would have just named him "Ryuu," (Dragon) but that sounded weird.

Rainy Day Man/King Endymion - Sailor Moon related. The first is a song from episode 43 about Jupiter and her childhood friend guy. King Endymion is Mamoru/Darian's name in Crystal Tokyo blah blah. YES, I like Sailor Moon!

Tatayu, my wizard, is pulled from a little roleplaying fictions I did as the Ice Sorceress, and so is my assassin Katikara who is the Wind Sorceress. My supposedly main character is Xyra Fhoan, whose name is xylophone except I modified the syllables to form a cute girl's name. My little-known crusader is Anita Bangkok... if you can't figure this out I label you extremely dimwitted but I have had some people come and ask me if I was Thai. And... my knight is Xyra's Revenge which is basically a mash-up of my alchemist's and Finrod's names.

Regn: The Swedish (though some have argued other languages) version of the word rain, which is one of my favorite weather phenomena. Rain looked dumb, but the Swedish version of it looked nice.

Reagan: That former actor and president of the United States.
Reign: One who rules. Also a name used by some assassin cross on Chaos.

Lasair - 'Flame' in irish mythology; part of a goddess triad (smith).
Mizu - water (japanese) (wizard).

[Master_Loki]

The whole objective of the characters I make in any game, is to cause mischief of some kind. Loki, the norse god of mischief, has always been one of my favorite characters since I was little, and Ragnarok, the story/game representing how Loki anally raped every norse god and their mother, seemed like the best place to use that name.

The name was going to be "Loki-sama", however, it seemed more original to name it "Master Loki". If left like that though, people might think I meant "master of loki", so I added the underscore. Even then, they still thought that. The "master" seemed fitting since he basically was the master of all the norse gods in the end, since he destroyed them all (him and his offspring), even if he also ended up dying as well (To Heimdall).

Another good thing was, people would call me master, and I'd call them slave.

The name Dark_Loki, has a similar meaning, except its meant to represent how evil I wanted the character to be, and how frustrating it would be to encounter/kill him on the battlefield (woe).

The rest of my characters didn't have as much thought put into them as those two did. I don't use those names in any other games.

SalehTheNotSage - When I first started playing RO, I was playing Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones, and one of my more favorite characters was a Sage-class character named Saleh, and I originally wanted to be a Sage. at job level 45 mage, I found out 2 things:

1) My build sucked at the time (2 STR, 17 LUK, lol.)
2) I didn't really like the sound of Sage skills.


So I remade and ended up going "Saleh...The...Sa-- wait. I'm not a Sage anymore." The first logical edit would be SalehTheWizard, but I felt like being stupid at the time. Thus, NotSagery embedded itself into RO.

Holy-Order Saleh - Guilty gear Accent Core was coming out, and I wanted to make a sin, so I was like "What if my hwizard was Sol? What would Order-Saleh be like?"

WaInut = huge Phantom brave Fan, and Walnut was my favorite character. Psycho Burgundy really seems similar to MR and GC, also.

Riana Demonbane = >>; Riana means holy and since she's a demon slayer (in my mini-story I made up for her) and has an odd build (sword + signium cruises + demon bane) that she needed a last name like demonbane. :3

Raspberry Rubus = Raspberries are members of the Rubus plant-thingie family. >_>; Nuff said.

Arin Gloris = my second male character. story-wise he'd be Aeria's little brother. :3

My first char(sin) name was Chalina which is made up from my real name. 'Cha' from my first, 'li' from my middle and 'na' form my last. She has been deleted for a while remade several months ago into a dancer.

Most of my char names have Chan or Channa in it. Being a short form of my real name. My HP's name is based from this with the La in front, Lachanna.

I have a few chars that don't have Chan in them. My alchie Sheylen for one, I can't remember why I named her that. It was before I really started on the Chan names though.

My wizard's name is Sugar Blossom. This is one of the nick names that my bf calls me.

My original character, 'Hoi Karnage' is the only one with a story behind it. There was this anime short, only aired in Japan about little robot dolls made by the "Hoi Hoi" corporation or something that activated in peoples home at night to terminate insects and junk in violent ways. Soon as I saw thief bugs and some of the other insect monsters on RO it seemed perfect.

Dr. Tame is just what I named my merch to sell the mass of pet eggs i'd accumulated. Never realised he'd become my main.

Galihan - I had no idea what to name my knight, so used a fantasy name generator. This sounded knightly.
Kelser - Same name generator. He was going to be a monk, but I deleted the aco to make a priest, and the name stuck.
Geralath - Same name generator (yeah, I suck when having to think up names)
Spider-Pig - is amazing and a half. enough said.
Diffuser - Name of a lesser-known band. Sounded cool for a monk.
Polycarbonate - Name of a shatterproof plastic used for safety glasses and those cool "unbreakable" water bottles. I had to have a chemical name for my alch
zoomba zoomba - yeah... I couldn't think what to name my leech archer/bard, so I put the first thing that came to mind. No idea why it was this though.

Lien~/L i e n/- Lien -/Lien` - I used a generator to get Lien and ran with it for most of the chars on that acct. I got tired of people asking if I was Viet (since apparently the name is) so I changed when I xferred servers for a while.
Teinay - stemmed from a convo I had with a guildmate on what obnoxious thing he should name his female buffslave. It's supposed to be pronounced like T & A (tits and ass)
AnomaIy - Sounded like a cool name for a heat TKM since their method of lvling is quite different than most chars.

Kazae - the name I've used for my protagonists from way back. Usually pronounced as 'K-Z'. On RO, was specifically Kah-zah-eh, but just like people do with Real Life names, ended up putting up with however people pronounced it. When original account was BS-banned and Gravity wouldn't unban even with proof, remade at GF's insistence and added his last name: Kazami. Original story - athiest Crusader. Story progression leads to him becoming a Maltheist Paladin, in time.

Zhane - more love for Z-names. Had to delete him, and remade him on Sakray, to make room for another character. His last name is Kentek, because it's a suitable sounding lame anagram. Combo Monk into Guillotine Fist, and somewhat 'beatnik'.

Eazak - who Zhane was deleted to make. Pronounced EY-zack. Will accept Eh-Zack, but otherwise, screw you. Made when I got sick of people asking, while I kept my Kazae in Swordie form waiting for Crusader back before 2-2, "Y J00 NO NITE LOL". Hate built. Hate fermented and fomented. And that hate was born in the form of Eazak Zeitgheist, whose story is, basically, some hunter was hunting Wanderer, and talked shit to him, and when the hunter had Wanderer ankle-snared, Eazak magnum-breaked the Wanderer into the hunter, and the two died simultaneously...and Eazak ganked the Muramasa that had dropped, because he is a right bastard. No, this didn't actually happen. Bastard Agi Knight, and son of a person who became a Wanderer.

Kolbyr - Norse name I liked, starts with a K, and inspired, ironically enough, by Jeff from Earthbound, only in turn becoming the sweet innocent bimbo-boy that became the Man of the Hour. His last name is Anpretzels. He will become a mechanic.

Coeam Modao - from a code from the classic PC-Engine game Dungeon Explorer. My battle sage from before people thought of doing non-int battle sages. Kim Jae Hoon - yes, I'm an SNK fan. Less than I am a Capcom fan, but I digress. Jae Hoon is my Soul Linker.

Kool Aid Man - My second alchemist. And, by personality, my more popular one.

Kettle Black - my original alchemist. Made to coincide and counterpart to the GF's MS monk, Black Pot. Acerbic, blunt, callous, disdainful, erudite, and in many ways inspired by Terrence "T.C." Carson (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Terrence_%22T.C.%22_Carson) in his portrayal as Kyle Barker in Living Single. Yes, Kettle is Black. So is Black Pot.

Debde Debda - another Dungeon Explorer code, that in the original game allowed walking through walls. Debde is, in my head, a very very VERY stereotypical sounding indian from the Punjab region, but is close to the stereotype of having a degree in almost any and all things, without any of the degrees being fake or frivolous. Nester Howards - inspired by the old Howard and Nester comics in Nintendo Power, Nester is the Unluckiest Thief Ever. He started on Loki, and had a horrible time of it. He was remade on Sakray, and became less unlucky, though this led to a new nickname - The Man with No Self Preservation Instinct. Has an expansive criminal family. He is a dagger rogue, but has a hybrid hurricane bow that he uses to show off. Snatching expert with a love for Plagerism.

You Damn Kid - named for a favorite Webcomic. His actual name remains unknown, but he answers to 'Joe'. Melee Supernovice.

Masahige - dropped an S. A variant name by which the exceedingly popular Hattori Hanzo was known. Projectile Ninja extraordinaire.

The Man with No Name - Ooo-ee-ooo-ee-oooo....Wah Wah Wah...

Future Hole Punch - Placeholder assassin. Still haven't gotten to do the quest with him. Intending to be Double-Attack Crit Assassin. Yes, more hybrid.

Harmit - The last Dungeon Explorer injoke. An unlockable class, you had to advance to level 65 as a Bard to become a 'Harmit', which was a typo/engrish of Hermit. Such is also Harmit's story - he was a bard, his dancer partner died, the only priest available would not resurrect her, so he went around badmouthing the church in song. One 'faction' within the clergy recruited him to become a monk so that he would be able to strike back at the priest who wronged him. When the time came, it was not he who took vengeance, but an assassin from his guild. All he had to do was not take action. Another combo monk, with championship in his future.

Kazae, while accepting of holy magic, didn't believe in the Gods, as they were described. A long mishap involving Glast Heim changed that. Now, he somewhat believes, though his own views on the Gods border on the heretical - he thinks they're deliberately 'screwing with the mortals because it brings them joy'. Thusly, not an atheist - a maltheist, due to the belief that the Gods are Malevolent.

Matsuo is the name of the slightly gay-hetero main character who is male protagonist, and the story is mostly told from his perspective. I also chose my class, Monk, because of Matsuo Basho, who is probably the most famous samurai class Haiku writer of feudal Japan. My real name is also Matt, so it kind of works that way too.

Deis' assault: I never knew the origin of this character's name until someone told me the meaning of the word "Deis" randomly. If I remember correctly in Greek (I think) it means Holy. Thus it means "Holy's assault." I named this character after a friend's character because this character was just a Dancer leech character to get my friend's Aco to Priest. Looks like I had too much fun with this class.

Unholy Intimacy (my High Priest) was previously Unholy Savior. I don't find myself a very religious person so I decided to make it a bit more personal and change it to intimacy to represent something that means a lot to me.

Deathtrap (my Sniper) is pretty straightforward. This was back when Hunters where a "dominating" class. Hunters trap and they were among the fastest killers... so voila, Deathtrap.

Maria Practica (my pure potting 99 Alchemist). Really didn't have an idea for a name for an Alchey (I like class related names). So I did some research on female alchemists and came across Mary the Jewess (http://www.hypatiamaze.org/chem/alchem_1a.html) who is one of the first female alchemists. Because Mary the Jewess sounded way too old fashioned, I decided to use the name of her well known (at the time) book which flowed better called The Maria Practica. I find it funny when some people think the name is Mexican but I can understand why.

My first char was a knight, Coaxial Knight, a shoutout to the job I had then as IT intern.

My priest, "Holy Healer, Batman!", came from me trying to think of something that had to do with priest. I think I came out with Holy Healer, and that made me think of the Adam West Batman tv series. I liked this name, so I stuck with it. It was also the start of my series of comic-based superhero names.

My Rogue, Batkid, was my priests sidekick.

My Smith, "It's Clobberin' Time!" was a not-as-clever attempt to have a name like my priest's.

My Palidan, Captain America, was cause he was shield/sac as a sader, obviously.

My TK Ranker, Black Belt Jones, is a salute to a "so awful that its so good" blaxploitation film by the same name (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0071221/).

My Battle Sage, Cleffers McGee, is named after my girlfriend's turtle.

My Bard was made at the same time as my girlfriend's dancer. A clever, bard/dancer-based pickup line. She continued with it, I stopped. Nice Shoes, Wana Pluck?

My Sin X, Daredevil, was named cause I planned on having him equip a blinder/blinker the whole time. That lasted all of 2 months.

My bubble gum fort bitch, Ugly Pack Mule, is just that. An ugly pack mule.

My Monk, Captain Caveman, more of an obscure cartoon superhero. Captain Caveman was very strong and smashed things with a mace. Figured a gfist monk is the same.

My Crit Knight, Ineffective Flash is explaining what he is. Very flashy (with morrigane set), but generally ineffective.

The Blue Bomber, my alchemist, was a reference to megaman. His first filir was named Maverick Storm Eagle.

Xaerael - way back in the beardy days of diablo 2, i always liked the names like azrael, tyrael, etc. so i went about trying to find an unused phonetic to put before "rael" (which means angel in some language... arabic i think) and came up with Xaerael (zay-reil) for a trap assassin.

Irryon - totally made up. (irry-on)

Sephey - i always liked the first phonetic of Sephiroth (seff) and played with it to make a female name from the phonetic, thus getting Sephey (seff-ee)

Tirrena - two names i like put together. Tir (or Tyr), nordic god who sacrificed his hand to fenris, and Rena, of .hack fame. (ti-rena)

Ukatoumaru - broken japanese. the first part "ukatou" comes from Ukatousen, which the basic meaning is "a release", and "maru" means "perfect, or perfection". broken i know, but it almost means "perfect release"

Ichimugen - japanese, Ichi means first, Mugen means infinity. "first infinity"

Nimugen - apply above, only Ni means second ;p

Every one of my chars is in a story I have been writing and developing since 2002, when I first came up with my name, Ryock. Since then, I created a very big story involving Ryock and other chars, so I use those chars' names in RO. Some of them Japanese, with the exception of Ryock. Lurukia, I don't remember how I came up with that one.

Ryock, pronounced Ry-okk: Ryock is the main char of the story, and is supposed to be a travelling spellcaster. He is well known around the world for his adept spells and oftentimes takes apprentices under his wing to train. He's the only one left of his family and it is unknown what he is travelling for.

Ryoshi Tensuma: Supposed to be a good friend of Ryock's. Although that's true, they rarely ever see each other, and are quite distanced apart most of the time due to their own duties they feel they need to attend to. Supposed to be a holy man of sorts, he often tries to solve people's problems, and see if there's something he can do to help those in need. After receiving an urgent notice from someone, he seeks out to find Ryock.

Yukari Lurukia: Ryock's apprentice, and travelling companion. Although she is only 14, she has been taught and raised by Ryock for two years, and she is very well adept in melee combat, and magic, using them in a different way from which Ryock was attempting to teach her. Her family name almost completely wiped out, she trains under Ryock, as her family has always had a talent for magic. Rash, impatient, tough, and sometimes violent, she's a student who is difficult for Ryock to manage.

Himeyasha : contrary to common claims, it's not from inuyasha. When I was in 6th grade I read this book which depicted the tragic love story between Kazu no Miya and a member of the Tokugawa clan sometime in the 1600s. Kazu no Miya's childhood name was Himeyasha

BronxZENuff - Deccedant of the ZENuff clan, dating back to PhillZENuff (sounds like "feels enough"). He is the younger Brother of ~KenZENuff~ who is locked away somewhere in a Cambodian prison for smuggling plants into the country. He vows to carry on the ZENuff tradition, and finish the work of his older brother. Bronx is the name I gave him because it just sounded like a cool name for a Blacksmith :)
