Since there's a topic like this at the anime/manga subsection, why not for games? You can post about games you're playing now, or recently played.

My current addiction is Persona 3. I'm about 70 hours in and probably nowhere near the end (not that I'm in that much of a hurry, things seem to be stuck in a rut anyway).

Recently completed Phoenix Wright 3 (boy was I in for a surprise) and still haven't been able to play on my ds lite that much since then. On my final day of playing I had to recharge my ds lite 3 times :eek:

Picked up Namco Museum and it's fun! Very nostalgic.

Is it shit like all the other PS2 old school PSX RPG sequels? Or is it worth playing? I was very disappointed with Suikoden 3. :/

In my opinion, Persona 3 is worth playing. Whether it's boring or fun is really up to the player. I think it's like several games all mixed up in one.

Basically, you are a high school student by day, and defender of all things good (lol) at night. During the day you get to increase your charm/academics/courage and make friends or have girlfriends (this affects your persona), and at night you can choose to go and battle monsters.

The days go by in a calendar and the seasons change. Summer vacation, exam week, etc...

It does get a little boring when nothing is happening but IMO it's up to us to make it interesting in that case. There are tons of things to keep us interested.

I just have to say that I have not been interested in a game's story in a very very long time. All the other games I've been playing for the past 4 or 5 years (other than Phoenix Wright/Hotel Dusk), I've played for battle system and nothing else. I found myself very curious about what was going to happen in Persona 3.

There's one thing I forgot to mention about Persona 3, to anyone who is interested in playing it. There are some moderate to 'heavy' "emo" themes. It is rated M for a reason. I don't want to explain what I'm talking about in case it ruins it for someone who wants to play... although it is mentioned/explained in the first hour or two of gameplay.

Phantom Hourglass - It's totally kickass, and though I don't have much time to play it, it's one of the few games that I really really really like for DS. I think I'll do a second run through when I'm done instead of just going back to playing Mario Kart DS like I tend to do.

i finally started this this week as well. i am very happy with it so far, other than it's annoying to roll and to precisely 'volley' magic spells. i like the sailing a lot, and i like the salvage minigame. it really feels like you're earning treasure instead of sailing around to a blank spot in the ocean like in WW. this zelda is much more user-friendly, and i like making notes on my maps. the segments in the Ocean King's temple are pretty tense, but not frustrating. i think they did a nice job.

I've been playing RE since the PS days and I must say it's everything I thought it would be. Granted it's pretty effen hard (well on Normal Mode). Right now I'm just blowing through it on Easy Mode and getting A and S ranks but after that I'm gonna try out Normal and Hard. It's really fun because almost everyone can play it.

I loved the first couple of Dynasty Warriors on PS2, they were very addicting in multiplayer. Those old Koei strategy games it was themed from were great.

My boyfriend is actually a big fanboy of ROTK so he collects these stuff. xD Samurai Warriors, Dynasty Warriors, DW Extreme Legends, etc. I just join in for the ride. It's fun on multi because we compete on who gets the most KO's, steal each other's horses, steal each other's musou and even kills. Heh. The series is a nice break from other games -- and in my case it's very effective in annoying the heck out of your significant other. :>

But seriously, Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn is really fucking awesome but it's also really difficult... the translators decided normal mode should be renamed easy mode for the English version because easy mode, while easier, is still not a walk in the park. A lot of complaints about FE are that the graphics are dated and (in Gamespot's case) the story is weak. Well, they all suck and while I agree the map graphics are pretty terrible and early plot is a little bland (but certainly not bad), everything's a step up from its predecessor on the GCN (Path of Radiance) except SUPPORT CONVOS. For some reason they decided to heavily downgrade them and that makes me so sad because I loved the conversations. However, you can now support with anybody you like, which is the reason for the change. However, the supports are not as good as they were on the GBA games so I guess you can live without them. The cinematics are just plain effing awesome except for a few weak voice actors, but Ike's voice actor is really quite good and so is Shinon's.

Speaking of Shinon, damn did he ever get an upgrade. They really fixed up the character growth in RD so now characters who were supposed to be powerful in PoR really are powerful.

And... the game is really long. Probably the longest, hardest game you can get for the Wii, and the only turn-based strategy. I've fallen in love, though. Those character designers make me want more, and more and more and more.

LOL I just used Ike, Titania, Shinon, Brom, Gatrie, Kieran, Soren, and ummmmm Tibarn, Naesala, Caineghis, and some others, the game is easy at the end if you use caineghis and the other laguz kings. I liked it cuz it had so many twists and turns..... especially the black knight, who gets revealed, and its nuts who it actually is....
