Hm, makes me wish I had a stupid scanner so I could scan and post some of the pictures you sent me during Basic Training Finni. Maybe at some point I'll get one and be able to scan and post them, or at least have them on my comp to show off. But you wanted some dark evilesque biochem, so if there's a good amount of color change and personality differences (like I ended up drawing sarasaraus' biochem because of the description "competitive, but girly"; had the word competitive not been there, I wouldn't have accepted this commission. XD)

I like variety!! Even if it makes the image a little more difficult to draw, since it's out of my "comfort zone". I'm in it to improve my art skills too, as well as making some money. XDD

Ummm as for price irl, I'm actually just about to raise my prices there too... @__@ Can't keep up with the demand, and I seem to be spending increasing number of hours per image, so probably around $25-$30 for the chibi, but you'll also get a high res image and free print (if you can cover shipping, which is like $2 in US).

ACK GUYS SORRY I've been just dead since I got back from the convention (midterms + lab) but now I have a little more free time again! So I will be starting on Esper's commission tonight (LOL ESPER PLS BE PATIENT kkk ilu) and then we'll see about new takers and what not. I kind of want to do some art for myself first and clear some RL commission slots, then we'll see.

@Tigre: I use Copic Markers for most of my real media drawings in combination with some Prismacolors, metallic gel pens, uhhhh other stuff I have lying around. I ink with a combination of 0.03 Copic Multiliner, 0.25 Sakura Micron, and 0.25 brown Sakura Micron. Those are the same pens I use for watercolors, which are actually just a set of dry watercolors I had lying around from ages ago (I believe the brand is Van Gogh) and I use the nice waterbrushes 8D One thick, one thin, in combination with a little pool of water for color mixing. But I don't think I have any watercolored RO art?

For CG, stuff that's more painty-ish (like the Aishagurl gypsy image), I sketch it on paper first, clean it up, scan it in, and then mess with it in Photoshop Elements (COS EVERYTHING ELSE IS TOO COMPLICATED FOR ME, OKAY) until I'm satisfied with it. I only use the paintbrush, airbrush, eraser, and gradient tools (as well as like cropping and stuff but I don't use like the pen tool or impressionist brush wtf or stamping cloning I don't know what it is, ok 8D) And a hint of dodge/burn combined with a helluvalot of raping of layer properties. For a little texture I USUALLY use the Photoshop filter but sometimes I use stock photos too. I also use openCanvas for my work (moreso in the past but less nowadays), like the chibis are inked in openCanvas, since the lines tend to be smoother.

Microns are good. I have those already, but the fucking .005 ones dry out or the tips get weird on me.

Sexcellente. All seems like it's within the palm of my hand. I've found I like OC a lot better for inking, too, but I can't settle on a good coloring method. I've been playing around a lot, and I can't get the effects I'm looking for...I'll play a bit and see what happens, I guess.

D: Painter is soooo not a more complicated version of oC... it's like.. oC within a maze of fivebajilllllllllllllioooooooon other stuff.

The only thing I work with in Painter so far is really just the Thick n Thin Pen thing... It's sort of like oC in terms of smoothness or whatev.

Dude my tablet driver messes up my computer all the time. I've resorted to just actually saving the driver exe file onto my hard drive and reinstalling it periodically, like once every few weeks. I know what you mean about the tabbing, mine also likes to go haywire after I leave the computer on for... a week. Which is probably the reason in itself.

COPICS ARE EXPENSIVEEee it took me like 3 years to save up the money for about 40 copics and I seriously lack a lot of the colors I really want, but alas, no more money... I got a bunch last year at Anime Expo, where there was a booth selling them for buy one get one free.

Anyhow, here's the settings I use in openCanvas:

Obviously I'm using 3.05 e here, but I think you get the idea? I usually ink the image (about 1500-3000px) with like a 2.5px brush and then just go crazy. If I'm looking for crisp lines, I turn off the opacity while if I want it a little more blended and natural looking, I keep the opacity on. I totally don't use oC to its full capacity though, cos I prefer Photoshop.

@Juliet: No I wasn't able to go!! I wanted to but there was no one who could watch my art table in the meantime... sob. T__T

Yeah, during the convention season, Copic Markers sell for buy one get one free/50% off. It's awesome since there are 4 large sets now. They're so expensive that it's worth the wait. Personally, I got mine many many years ago from someone who was living abroad in Korea... it was only $165 a large set versus the $340 it is now. Prismas are similar, but I think for smaller works and the variety of colors, Copics are better. I think my favorite sets are D and.. A or B. Just 2 of the sets is really good enough :3 There are Piko Deleter markers which aren't bad either. Although I think they are water based instead of alcohol based?

It's even more expensive in Canada and we never have sales... But I seriously feel your pain about how expensive markers are. Personally I use Letraset (well, the OLD Letraset before they went and redesigned the Trias and fucked up their colours by ditching Pantone's contract with them) and even those cost nearly $4 per marker. Copics are $6 or $7 /wrist while in Japan they are less than $4 including tax /morewristfromnotbuyingmoreofthem

I tried like a billion times to respond to Azu and my internet would ALWAYS time out and it was so frustrating I just left irowiki forums for a while LOL so let me just cut it short!

@Azu: I think I did see you at AX! Outside the gaming room, but I was just passing by. I was in Artist's Alley all of AX sooo yeah I couldn't really meet lots of people unless they came specifically to find me. : ( BUT where did you get it tailored? It looks amazing! I don't know where to find any of this stuff because I make all my costumes by myself. How much did it cost?

Sad fact: I accidentally saved over my PSD file with the small, compressed websize version, so I just lost a ton of hours of work. 8( Actual size was 1300 x 3000px sadness.
