I'd like to know your comments about this item the pros and the cons,
IIRC this item can't be upgraded right?
and are there any updates with this item yet it kRO? like a socket enchant?

It can be refined.

When used with survivor's rod each upgrade of the manteau gives 3% resistance to neutral attacks. Matk -5% and +1% for each upgrade of the rod, +300hp.

I personally like it, it's a nice vit and hp boost, potentially matk boost. Nice pvm/MVP gear all-around.

Probably once the staff of piercing comes out though, the combo won't be so universal. I still find the manteau nice in WoE, but there are better reduction gears for that. And I guess some don't want the extra vit because of AB in the first place.

I wouldn't be so willing to bet that staff of piercing would be more used in WoE.

Staff of Destruction may have applications for precast, but Staff of Piercing is a waste of time on things that have low MDEF, which is a great number of players.

Staff of Destruction is two handed however. A stray shot coming out of the precast will send you reeling.

I usually used it for the HP bonus and because it helps when you're precasting and those enemy Dancers/Gypsies start popping up. Also since more HP = stronger Indulge, for Scholar anyway.

You have to get it to +7 to make its reduction on-par with a regular Raydric Card though... +4 is only 12%.

and to expect +7, you need to bring plenty of them when upgrading. How much does surv mant cost in iRO? As far as I recall you need to summon Ktullanux, and the quest can only be done once per char right? If that's true, how do people work around that?

Do it on all seven characters and you can summon Ktullanax 7 times.

Yes, but obviously 7 per ID wouldn't be enough for Ktullanux campers, no? Any known base level requirements? Doddler's Future Wiki says it's unknown.

people sell them alot+you don't usually solo the thing asfaik, so that's alot of groups at once with lots of powders

Its one of those Garments ud want for a Wiz, especially in WoE. But when 11.3 comes out, my wiz would start using the Staff of Piercing/Noxious Valk Mants even tho it might get stun fcked from Dazzlers more often

Till then you can always stick with a High Upg Survivors Rod + Surivors Mant. Tho most of the time you really don't give a rats ass about the Upg of the Mant for WoE cuz no ones idiotic enough to not enchant their weapon with some element (or are they?)

okay, thanks for the tips everyone :)
I'll get it as soon as I have the money,
Can I got this item from obb/ovb/other boxes?
I'm guessing yes because my server doesn't got Ktullanux yet but I've seen it on vending.

a little bit off topic here,
what is staff of piercing? I've searched the forums and the wiki to no avail

The quest can be done on a 1/1 novice, so it's easy to keep gettin supplies to summon the mvp. Also one of the common drops from the ice mvp can also be used to put out the flames instead of using a flame powder

Now this is the answer I'm looking for. Thanks for clearing it up. It'll be easy if you can do it as a novice, since AFAIK most official servers have free-trial account for several days.

You learn something every day.

So 4 Ktullanuxkills = 4 Ice scales = 1 free summon?
Or can you use the same Ice scale over and over?

You have to wait 2 hours till you can summon again, right?

it's two hours...

and you just need 1 ice scale to summon him again OR 4 snow powders

ice scale drops pretty every ktullanux you do

Does it consume the ice scale when you summon him again?
is it consumed when activating the last "fire-pillar"?

But sweet that you can summon it several times on the same char ^^
Now who took the scale when i mvped it? <.<

I thought the ice scale just replaced using a snow powder and you still needed a mixture of four to put out the flames..... I never actually put out the flames myself so I wouldn't know for certain

yes the ice scale gets consumed, i never did the spawning quest, because i was too lazy to do it with my scholar, i just was the sp bitch for the champ and brought the first four powders i did with another char, after that we summoned him by the ice scales he dropped

so 1 ice scale is equivalent to 1 ice powder, and an arbitrary mixture of 4 is needed per summon? can someone verify this please?

He said he used the one ice scale ktullanux dropped to summon him again = 1 ice scale needed.
You can probably turn out 3 of the "fires" around the center by just having an ice scale in your inventory and then when you turn out the last "fire" the ice scale is consumed and ktullanux is summoned.

At least thats how i understood it -_-"

Yes, either work for putting out each fire.

Either 1 ice scale OR 4 powders

point should be clear now xD

Mystic

you need 4 ice scale, not just one. ice scale is the same like the powder.

I called him very often and after putting the first ice scale in, nothing happend! dont know, if there is a special trick /hmm
as for me, he spawns after putting one ice scale in each fire.
