One of my goals when I opened this site was to have a photo/image gallery. Now, to do this, it needed to allow two major things. Unrestricted remote hot linking, and sharing the vB forum user base. Making people register twice just wasn't going to work.
This would enable some of the RO Fan art community to have a hub. Also would allow anyone to be able to have a place to upload screen shots, avatars, signature images, and random things which could be linked to from anywhere on the net. For example, you could upload your RO screen shots, and a signature image, then use them both on the iRO forums.
After searching around for a few weeks, installing many different free gallery packages, and reviewing a bunch of demos, I wasn't able to find a free package that had the features or support we were looking for. Either sharing the vb userbase was a pain, or hotlinking was not a simple task, or both. So I've settled on PhotoPost, which costs $129.
PhotoPost (http://www.photopost.com) was designed from the ground up to work with vB. It also supports hot linking abilities such as direct copy of link both in URL, HTML and bbcode IMG formats. Every user would be able to create their own album, and there would also be generic albums for commonly uploaded items. It has a ton of other features, some of which can be seen on this page (http://www.photopost.com/featuresphp.html). The important features will be explained when it actually opens.
Now that you've read this far, I'll get to the main point of this post. PhotoPost costs $129. While I am going to buy it in the next few days and start configuring it, I'm hoping to cover the cost of through donations. So I'm starting what I'll call a Donation Drive, where a donation link will appear in the NavBar until we reach our goal.
To donate, click on the Donate link on the navbar (default skin only) or click here:
Click here for the Donate Page. (http://forums.irowiki.org/misc.php?do=donate) Please note that using this link is preferred as it's more automated on the forum end for tracking. However, this requires you to give a shipping address (I can't turn that off for this form yet), if you'd rather not give your address use the link below).
Click here if the above link doesn't work. (http://irowiki.org/donate.htm) Please note if you use this link, I need your forum username in the "Forum Username" field.
If either link does not work, PM me or post in the Customer Service forum.
When you donate, you get a custom title and many other benefits. Read this thread (http://forums.irowiki.org/showthread.php?t=415) for more information.
For questions or comments just reply to this thread.
