Since I have near 100 skins, I'm putting the images on photobucket and the rars on filefront for easier access. Some of the skins have homunculus windows, most do not though. There is a rar called Skin Optionals, it's the alternates for every skin I have in one folder (not seperating these, sorry). You will need winrar to extract these.

Change the URL to Corona.zip, since I think it has a typo (it says Corono).

It's because there is a little mistake in the link he's giving.
Il should end with ".../Corona.zip" but instead, it's ".../Corono.zip".
You only have to switch the end of the url.

Hey random question bout skins, what does each square in the colorchip effect?? cause i keep messing with it and i still cant figure it out :/ The only thing i noticed it really affecting is my guild window and hp sp bar.

03 - background color of unavailable selections in the skill and guild windows
04 - background color of selected passive skills
05 - background color of NPC convo windows
06 - color of the loadscreen progress bar and the reputation graph lines in the guild window
07 - outline of experience bars
08 - background color of experience bars
09 - foreground color of experience bars
10 - outline of...the "combo" box? whatever that is -- popup menus maybe?
11 - background color of trade window confirmations
12 - outline of parts of the guild window, also the background color of the guild window tabs and alliance/antagonist lists (the site warns against making this value pure black, to keep those elements legible)
13 - unknown, perhaps unused
14 - outline of parts of the pet info window, as well as chatboxes and smith/chemist creation menus

what happens if you dont make one of the colorchip blocks one color though? like if you put polka dots instead of one color, would it error out or show polka dots?

edit: yeah it looks like colorchip only takes the first pixel of each chip thingy

XD i would assume that RO really only reads the first pixel of each chip and the rest is just to make it easier on skin creators. but i've never actually tested this...
it'd be badass if you could specify a gradient with each chip though instead of just one solid color.

I've got a small question. I LOVE these skins, but one thing is always bothering me. Although all the skins work great, the equipment window remains unchanged, and remains looking like the default one, while all other windows are fine.

Computer issues, lost my RO install, need to find my skin again! However, I'm finding no screen shots of my gear window open, so this is going to be kind of hard to explain. The one screen shot I did find was of this:

It was called 'Angel Wing' and it was made 3-4 years ago. It came in both emo black and kawaii fag blue. The gear window showed a the full level up angel wing on a light blue back ground.

Anyone have/know where this could be found?

P.S. This isn't the same 'Angelic Wings' skin made by AxiaDrake on RO Empire. This one was made about the time she was getting started, but long before she made her version of a similar skin. The wings are also larger on the one I'm looking for, spanning nearly the full width of the gear window (IE the full size level up wings).

Go into the skin folder then go into the basic_interface and either copy or rename your equipwin_bg to equipwin_bg2. If you want the show equipment option, you're going to have copy the equipwin_bg onto the current equipwin_bg2 and modify from there.

Looks like ROSKIN BOX is some kind of... well, skin box. It redirects you to the authors' sites so you can get them there. When there's no website, it gives you a download link. batabata's link, however, has a ※閉鎖 in red. The ≫List link brings us to amour's section, the skin's maker. However, there's something in red there too. - HPは閉鎖されました - probably means their site is dead, has restricted access or something like that. :sob:.

EDIT: I just noticed Rikaichan exists. So yeah, looks like the creator's page was closed. No batabata for us.

And bluefox, note the time of my post, it was damn near 2am. I wasn't about to misinterpret anything I cannot understand (and did not have time to translate as I was going to sleep). I was just giving the only thing I found relating to the skin in question. After poking a kanji translator, I got that 閉鎖 means "closing; closure; shutdown; lockout; unsociable". No clue about the ※ because the same translator says it means "rice symbol; note (supplementary information) symbol; symbol with an "x" and four dots".

Yeah, ※ is just probably a fancy symbolused tomake things fancier. Please, don't feel mad at me... my "screw that skin" was because the Megaman skin was on the same page, and it caught my attention better than the one you found. Thanks for finding that site, by the way, there are a LOT of good skins there. Such as these (http://megante.client.jp/skin.html). (click there, the images a bit way too big).

About the login screen skins, I think the only way to use them is using the same method you use to modify Bard's jokes. Which I believe is illegal.

Just because the stuff is in the skin folder, does not mean it will actually read the skin folder's edited stuff before the stuff inside the data.grf. What that looks like is they went and ripped the \basic_interface section out of the grf and called that the "new" skinning pack. I just tried everything to get the stuff to work and it still wouldn't read the recolored skin I did over the blue. Until I see a legal version of it working, I'm going to go with the GMs did not remove what cannot be legally seen when skinning (or something like that, too early in the morning for words).

Also, no skin I have ever downloaded from a Japanese or Korean (or even a terrible RO database site) site have ever had a login/character select skinned.

However, this is detouring the point of the thread somewhat. PM me if you care to continue.

I have attempted to download the Angelic Legacy (skin from very first post) from the link supplied and from another source listed in this thread and when i extract it to the Skins folder. I then reset my client and select the Angelic Legacy and it simply reverts to the default blue skin for RO.

Anyone know why? Or where i can get a current version of this skin? I am a big fan of the original Legacy skin and think i would like this one just as much. Thanks in advance.

GMs told me because they dont allow for alteration of the client, and i am assuming that is generic answer #12 that i received - or that the skill windows arent part of the skin but rather part of the grf or something.

i cant seem to find anything aside from whatever the top and bottom borders are for the skill window, which looks bad without the middle part...

i dont know if this is what does it, but try going to

ragexe -> properties -> compatability tab

and set the compatibility mode for windows XP... i dont remember but i had that problem when i installed the new patch i had the same problem - i tried that and it seems to have worked

I have attempted this and the only options it gives are all of the other OS's im not using. (i.e. Windows NT, Windows 98...shit like that but not Windows XP)

Any other ideas?

I've been getting questions about the skin I use lately, and now someone told me to post it here so here it is lol.
It was originally Phieti skin by Hecn which he made in 07, he's a russian dude.
So it's version 2.0 because I have remade it.

I found it again, and I think his concept s really good but lacked the cool and nice colors, and the optimization of the item holders to be really good.

I made the boxes blueness, which turned out really good(imo), the squares the items are put in, which are very helpful and non confusing seeing that a lot of people just put a shade under them..
The equips window I made, the basic info window and the rest have been remodeled and recolored. The original basic info window involves a very impressive and visually great design, but it was awfully disturbing to be using it all the time, and so was simplified for visual pleasure and use-improvement.
The battlemode box shows two different colors, blue when not active
(normal), and red when battlemode is active.
I just like this so much better than the original ro skin ~.=
Don't know why, it just has a more modern and sleek look to it as it is now.

[tl;dr]
To say it short, it's been remodeled and improved technically and visually.

[Editor's Note:]

If you don't want the blue outline on the Lord Knight just go into the folder and rename the one without the outline, to the original name.

This was covered in the thread before. Even though you can skin it, the client/grf reads the default skin inside of the grf before a custom logon skin. The only way to see your custom logon skin is currently illegal, and I refuse to speak of how to do it. <3

Also, I'm not sure if they've ever allowed for custom logons on kRO. I doubt it though.

Probably a Slowpoke moment, but I guess I just found out how to skin the new skill window - just change the skill_botbar_left.bmp (also mid and right) and skill_upbar_left.bmp (once again, also mid and right). There's also a no_skill.bmp, which is the icon that appears in the skill tree when there's no skill on that space. As for the rest of the skill window, it could probably have something to do with colorchip.bmp.

As for the Renewal skin (or rather, the changes to the basic interface), most of the files are here (http://www.mediafire.com/?qu2xtunzjzm) (it doesn't have the new arrow things... too lazy to look for them now :sob:).

Ah yeah - you can use GRF Tool to check the files inside a grf file, such as that huge data.grf inside your RO folder. iRO's already received 13.1, so the new skill window files are most certainly there.

When I have one of the custom skins on the equipment window part never shows up its always the default one while the equipment bar shows the custom skin design. anyone know what may cause this? or what i can do to fix it?
Sounds like the issue created by the feature to reveal your gears to others, since they changed the image file for the equip window. Almost all skins were made before that update, so they don't have that new file.
