I keep getting this error when installing programs...

Seems like you don't have enough privileges.... are you running as admin?

i am the admin. I install this computer myself. Usually i can handle small problem, but this one, dunno... when I run most instalation program, the error message

"Access violation at adress 004097C2. Write of address 00401000."

suddenly pops up and the installation canceled but only for some programs.
For example, I can install fraps, but cannot install CCC codec pack.

ah sorry, windows xp home edition version 2002 (first release)

avg 7.5 free edition.

But nothing wrong in the past, and i've tried turning it off before installing.
Same error message.

Registry problems you're having.... get a good registry cleaner to scan and fix your registry and try again.

Registry Mechanic is good but you need to buy/crack the program to fix your problems
