I'm still learning some of the tricks to doing line art in photoshop. But I think this will be good practice for me. I will probably still start the first sketches in pencil since that is what I'm comfortable with. I can do coloured pencil drawings, but most here seem to prefer CG. But if anybody prefers a drawing done in the traditional media of coloured pencils or water colour, let me know. There is always the option of mailing the original to you as well.

Yeah I have 3 years. So one and a half to go. School is going well. Right now trying to get myself a macbook to do homework at home and having a bit of a hard time. I'm hoping it will be resolved soon.

I find sometimes I have a hard time drawing profiles, I really have to work on them. More practice I guess.

I should link my photobucket link with all my art. I don't really use my deviant art all that often, I find it's a pain in the butt too upload sometimes, and a while back some of the pages wouldn't load half the time. It just frustrated the hell out of me.


I'd like to try to take on a few commissions, but right now school is starting to catch up with me and I'm having a hard time keeping ahead, the main reason being everything is done in Abode. I don't have the software yet at home. I have been trying to get the school to use a government grant for special needs to get me a macbook, but they have declined. I'm hoping to order myself one later today.

Another new drawing.
I really like this one. So much so I attempted to try and to line art of it in photoshop. I haven't ever really done line art before, so this is a first attempt at really doing it. Some of it is rough, but it's not too bad for the first time. Once i get a bit more free time I'd like to get back finishing it and trying to paint it.

Oh, and I can give you some tips <333

- Some people blow up their image, ink it, then shrink it down to 50% and start coloring. It takes a while, but it works!
- Use long, quick, single strokes when doing your lines. I always go up->down, so I have to rotate my screen when I'm dealing with lines that are horizontal.
- Experiment with the brush settings! Add in textures to make them crisp, use square brushes, change the sizes, etc.

lol I love Bluejays. I have never seen a cardinal though. I'm just a bit too north for that. I love grosbeaks too and little finches. My mom used to put seed and that out in the winter and used to get all kinds of birds. Seems to be less and less though every year. Live in an apartment now,away from home, so kinda hard to put seed out for birds.

I had done the hair change quest and after going through like 6 hairs i got this one, left it for a bit and now i love it. Love the combination of the green and pink for some reason. It was much fun to colour too <3 Fabre Castell pencils. Way better than prisma color

I'll post a work and progress soon for the coloured chibi's of sly's. It's on my Macbook right now and don't feel like transferring it. I think it's completion might take a couple more days. >_< I blame the 2 times xp event. good news though is that i'm halfway to 98 after 3.5 hour and should be 98 tomorrow by noon, and give me another day or so to hit 99. But then i have to help the friend lvl his sin who's hsing me right now.

Things have been a bit busy around here and I lost a bit of my urge to draw and that for a bit. Right now i haven't even felt like playing ro very much.
I had pulled out my little sewing machine late last week and attempted to sew, but found a few problems with the machine. I got it to work for the most part, but on occasion it's still skipping stitches. I really want to try and finish my plushy doll, but i won't want to ruin my material. I have half of a doll head started. My mom is visiting me this coming weekend so hopefully we can look at it together to get it working properly.

I did do one other sketch. I drew my little priest that i have been leveling more lately than my sinx. >_< lol I got her to 77 this morning. I tried to give her a bit more of a gothic feel.

Those eyes right now are just printed on paper and pined on, just to get an idea of what they might look like. I'm going to attempt to paint on some eyes. One reason the head is still only pined on still. The head has 3 layers of material, so if i mess up painting the eyes i can take off the skin layer and try again.

I might attempt to turn this doll into my High Priest.

I kinda got paint on the one arm of the doll too. >_< So right now it's wet from me washing it. I'll have to go get some yarn for hair now.

How did you sew on the hair? I always found that part really time consuming X_x

It's 2 pieces,with tread running through reach piece of yarn, one set that goes from front to back, and another that is placed sideways.
I tacked it down in a few places.

Thanks. I have tended to try and keep my pencil lines quite clean for a while now. I guess bit easier to trace when i wanted to make a coloured version. I never colour the original sketch with colouring pencils, just too messy.



I'm wondering if anybody else would be interested in buying a doll if I opened up commissions to sell them. They would be custom made to the way you'd want them. Clothing might be a bit limited, depending on what the outfit is, and if I can find material for a decent price and figure out how to make it.

The cost for one doll would be about 60-75 dollars.

I think you chose a great pose and yo udid well with the hands! Something I'd personally wish I was better at. I see you're going for a bit more realistic image than your average anime-style RO drawing but her boobs look a bit too far apart.
Also, and I realize it's mostly due to an optic illusion, but her ankles look too skinny due to how the leg armour's shaped. Even a tiny shade of her leg behind it would make a big difference, I think.

Hey, update on my mini doll! I redid her bikini bottoms cuz i really really hated the one i had made. I found some nice green ribbon at the dollar store. yay. I fixed her face up too. not perfect but she looks cuter now.
I found these cute little rim stone thingies too, glued a little green star to her choker. Hot Glue gunning that thing on is a total fail, good thing i had other glue.

i started painting this pic, but i just noticed my eye dropper tool is being a bit weird. when i go to select a colour, instead of going in the front colour pallet, it's going to background one. wth? I looked all over for setting and i don't see it. I dunno why it suddenly switched like this. Anybody else run into this problem?? It's a pain in the butt having to hit the x to get the colours to swap before i can paint.

edit: never mind, i fixed it and now i figured out what happened. Damn the littlest things you don't see in photoshop. Learn something about the program all the time.

almost finished the commission, i had it nearly done was just adding a splash of a background and it hung up on me. I think it crashed cuz was trying to play with the photoshop brushes and clicked something too fast too many times or something. ah well. the only thing i lost was part of the shading the falcon. I have just been too lazy to turn my macbook back on to redo it and finish it up.

Fiction i suppose. It's Fantasy. The guy is actually a dragon, who falls in love with the girl. The girl ends up running for her life, and she doesn't know why she is being chased. The dragon spots her and rescues her and helps her escape. Well that just part of the story anyway....

I have to get back to my commissions but i have been busy. Car broke down on tuesday while out for a drive. going to cost me a pretty penny to get it fixed.

I got to use a lot of different mediums at school, there was no computer when we started off. It was quite fun. I did stuff in acrylics, and pastel, and full pencil shaded drawings.

As for prisma color, bleh, i have moved on from those. Unless you have a good sharpener or want to sharpen them with a knife, they are a pain, because they break so easily. I have discovered Faber Castell. They are just as soft as the pirsma colour, but they don't break. I think it the time i have had them I only had one pencil break on me while sharpening. <3
Prisma would drive me nuts, I'd have this bran new pencil and I'd sharpen it and it would keep breaking, and by time you get to use it you have less than half the pencil left.

I managed to finish a guild mate's comish. I kinda lost the original big size of this. I resized it to make it a signature size, but i was sitting on the couch, and i guess i went too fast and hit save instead of save as. And there was no undoing the resizing. arrggg. I do have a half shaded version that is still in the large size though. Still semi annoyed at myself for it.

Was going to go buy a new one at the stationary store across the street, but they want freaking 10 bucks for it. I can go to Staples and pay about 7 for one. Staedtler mars Technico btw. Got it in my art kit when i started school and kinda got addicted to using it. I use the 2H lead cuz it doesn't smudge. I tend to rest my hand on the paper when I draw.

Kaorri: Thank you. I think light browns and blues always go well together. I was happy to find out after i finished this that Ko-No-Hana's favorite colour is blue. I definitely had fun with the photoshop brushes.

Cake: I tried to create an elegant feel with her. I think it worked out.

Here is a glimpse at my next commish I'm working on. It's darker than anything I have done in a long while. I'm not showing anymore than this because it's a secret until i get it done. i started doing the line art for it last night. and Bleh, i don't like doing hair.

Got busy this weekend leveling. My gypsy is lvl 76 now. Last night spent most of the night helping 2 guildies get to job 50 on their trans's. It's cool having a bunch of friends in share range.

Here is the completed Commission a friend of mine asked me to do. I don't think he thought I could pull this off. I did work somewhat closely with him to get feedback as I progressed. This is a lot darker than I normally do, but was a lot of fun as well. Let me know what you guys think.
