Yeah... I know Cecil Damon cards are ideal, but what about other cards for those of us who are more budget minded? I was thinking of fabre or fem thief bug off the top of my head. Any other ideas? Or would it even be worth carding? And yes, this'll be for a hindsight sage.

I'm pretty rusty when it comes to the newer cards, but my most recent "experiment" was with an injustice (lvl 1 sonic blow) and an Andre card (+20 atk). I know, pretty idiotic (hehe so no flames, neh?) But just wanted to try it out. On hindsight (haha), I should have gotten sidewinder (lvl1 dbl attack) cuz injustice is pretty weak especially at low to middle str.

Oh yeah by the way, some observations about the injustice carded bible I'm using:
1.) while casting a spell, if the 2-second sonic blow animation triggers while your precasted spell reaches the end of your green bar, the spell is cancelled, i.e. no bolts appear outa the sky.
2.) If sonic blow triggers and finishes before the green bar for your precast ends, the spell goes ahead.
3.) 440% damage at lvl 1 sounds like a lot, but somehow the damage I cause in that 2-second animation delay equates to maybe 50% of the damage I can potentially do with simply hitting the dang monster during the same period of tme.
4.) Damage is low, but the small chance to stun is nice, plus it looks cool (when it doesn't interrupt your precast).
5.) Sonic blow Super Sucks (at lvl 1 at least).

Other fun (but somewhat impractical) cards I'd like to try include the bloody knight card (chance to cast meteor storm), a combination of 2 zipper bear (+30x2 attack, less sp per attack) and dark priest (+1 sp per attack), and mbe a doppel card.
Look around here (http://roempire.com/database/?page=items&act=listbyclass&itemclass=Card&itemsubclass=Weaponry)
It's where I usually go ^^

Sorry about this reply turning into a rant~

EDIT: hey found a thread with new weapos and some mention of the newer cards here (http://forums.irowiki.org/showthread.php?t=1235)

Dark priest card exists? :O

For those on a budget i guess it would be fabre, the agi increasing thiefbug card or dex should you require hit. Status cards might be some help depending on what you are fighting.

The autocast ones i think require you to actually be able to connect your hit so probably not wise to use on the pure int/agi linked types.

I would bear in mind there is better books coming along with the next updates.

Injustice would mean fewer hits overall and less chance for the bolts to trigger. I'm looking for efficiency over "fun". Not only that, but I can't have bolts being canceled because of SB animation.

maybe status cards; stun, silence, curse, w/e else.
or a metaling card and maero of thanatos card combo?

I always wanted to make a quad fur seal knife for my hindsight sage, but I never got around to it. Fur Seal Card: Accuracy +10, Flee rate +3. The extra flee might be nice to have. Other than that, I can't think of any card besides Cecil Damon that would be good in sage diary. I guesss a Female Thief Bug isn't too bad either with Agi +1 and Flee +1.

I'm waiting for those new books.

Andre larva is definately not a bad choice - if i had had one as sage i'd have been tempted to use it, it would have let me get 140 blessed int with underwear combo and stat food - as it was, i had to use +1 stat food to get 120 unbuffed, which i needed because you will need to spam SP items soloing ID3 without 120 int regen bonus (yes, EVEN with an SP stop! at 98 once i forgot to equip an earring, and within less than the duration of a link, wound up needing SP items most runs, and then realized what was wrong). When it comes out, obviously, necro card replaces this.
Honestly Cecil is hard to justify. Yeah it helps, but even i couldnt justify the cost of them. They dont help much.

I'm looking for cards attainable right now... that aren't too hard to find. I'll be hitting the sage thing hard in a day or two so it would be nice to have cards by then. Right now, I'm leaning towards fabre. I think 2 vit and 200 hp would be more beneficial than anything else, especially for the price.

Necromancer, once they're out.

Necromancer When slotted in a rod type weapon, INT + 1, adds 2% magic defence bypassing.

I was hunting dark priest for a month trying to get its card but to no avail (thats even if it would of dropped). My favorite ailments are curse (-25% damage and slow speed) and blind (extra flee / hit). Curse prob isnt the best route because the cursed dagger has such an huge chance to curse that you could just do a mini weapon swap.

Think about where you are going to level with your sage. Curse is high on my list but it dosn't work everywhere. I could see putting 2x fur seal cards in a sages diary (+6 flee +20 hit). I actually made a Book of the soul triple so that I could solo bio2 with ease on my battle sage.

I doubt I'll go elsewhere aside from ID3. Maybe magma for a change of scenery. Familiar and Fur Seal cards look like interesting choices, almost more appealing than Fabre. My other option for this book is to leave it uncarded and resell it after I 99.

I would leave it uncarded.
