Anime to Live Action Movies/Series

Blood Live Action Movie - Sometime this spring or summer, the Blood live action movie will come out. I think its the original version of Blood not the new one. The cover poster for the movie shows her wearing the original long school uniform.

Hana Yori Dango Movie - Filming is underway in Las Vegas as we speak :D

Evangelion Movie - I gave up following the status of this movie...

Death Note - It's good >D and different!!

Princess Princess - TV series ... stupid.

And etc...


:confused: Do you have any objections to anime/manga turn movies/TV series?
Some of which do not follow either the manga or anime. Do you like that better than the movie following the same exact storyline as the manga or anime? Example: Death Note was completely different.

Sailor Moon and Cutie Honey. They were so "wtf", they made me crack up. :heh:While the Cutie Honey Live Action movie (the one made by Gainax, not the TV show that's currently airing in Japan) do follow some part of the anime, Sailor Moon didn't at all (at least from what I observed).

And I have a really bad feeling with the upcoming Dragon Ball movie!

What!? Dragon Ball movie...omg...I don't know if I should fear it or embrace it.
But the Sailor Moon live action, do you think it was good the storyline was different?

As for whether the Sailor Moon live action was good or not...kinda hard to judge. Things I paid attention to was how different the storyline was, compared with the anime (even though it was supposed to be a retelling of the first story arc). The enemy costumes were hilarious, especially the "main" bad guys in each episode. And the cat (Luna?) was a frigging plush doll. :heh:

But I guess the show was pretty popular when it showed in Japan. Why else would they make 40+ episodes of it?!

Tantei Gakuen Q: Althought I haven't seen the anime version; I enjoyed the live action.

I liked Kimi wa Petto (aka You are my Pet, or Tramps Like Us)... I haven't read the entire manga series yet, but the live action follows the plot loosely so far. It's pretty cute and funny by itself, just as a simple dramedy. I also enjoyed the Deathnote movies, though I followed the series by Anime -> Movies -> Manga.

I'll be the first to admit that I loved the live action Sailormoon. Sure, it was totally whack and pretty stupid most of the time, but that was its charm for me.

Considering how ethnocentric and xenophobic Japan is, it's a pretty safe bet that the original artist of the comic series and his readers as well as the fans of the animated show have always envisioned Goku as Japanese.

Call me newb, but Isn't the general reason of dislike/apprehension coming from the fact that the Exec producers/important people from these series that are being redone into Live action movies have little to no say in the matter?
