@Luna: Yay, some interest! Well, see, at some point in his life, Mucha did some art of the four seasons, and each season had three months on their calendar. I thought it would be fun to do something different like that, and after drawing the first picture, I'm jazzed to finish the others. I finally learned how to make clean lines in photoshop! :B
And I'd love to see your sketch! I have mine already finished, and I was working on colouring it, but I think I went a little crazy with my new splatter watercolour brush. We'll see how it goes down.

This is a longshot but there's this Christmas present I really want to get for my roomate (and I can't say what it is, because she reads this forum xD). See, thing is, it's a one of a kind item and I only have until the morning of October 5th (three days) until I can purchase it from ebay ... but I'm broke at the moment. Your use of colors just captivates me. Oh and the art trade you did for moonie is amazing--the star and the moon actually look nearly identical to my tattoo i have on my lower part of my neck, except it has vines wrapped around the moon instead of an HP LOL. I called Kinkos and it sounds like the calendars will be about twenty dollars CAD plus shipping. When I know the exact price (which should be soon) I'll update this thread and then I will take preorders so I can get them printed in bulk.

Also, what do you guys think: saddle stitch, spiral bound or something else? Kinko's mentioned comb binding but I don't know what that is. I'll probably go in and take a look sometime soon.

Comb binding is nice because you can take it apart really easily, in case people want to frame the pictures.

Pwetty! They remind me of a series of "4 seasons" art nouveau portraits my grandmother has. I love how you gave the ladies different horns for different seasons. And those backgrounds are lovely! The size of everything makes them look like fairies. XD Bindings, hmm? Spiral would be the easiest for a calendar because you can fold the pages back, but comb is good too. /ok

And one thing I was wondering about... I really feel bad about bugging you for so long, but how far did you get with my commish? I know you don't really play RO anymore (especially on Chaos) so zeny is pretty irrelevant, but I'd be happy to try a trade or something. I know, I know. I still have the sketch on my hard drive! It's been sitting in my art folder, just begging me to finish it. I will finish it, I promise you. I might be playing Chaos again sometime soon, so zeny would still be fine, but so would a picture from you! I just wanted to get this calendar out of the way so people can get one before the new year. I have a couple commissions in the works right now but I'm still thinking about you and Moonie. About Kinkos, I had to do a coloring book for a bunch of kids one time (and the organization) so I needed over 500 of them printed. I tried Kinkos first but out of everybody in the entire city that could do the same job, the were the most expensive. Not even by a little, it was huge margin.

I'd say exact numbers but it was years ago. :(

i vote for spiral. in my opinion, it looks more professional than comb binding and works really nicely on calenders. one of my friends from school did a four page calender with spiral binding and it looked fantastic.

and DEFINITELY shop around for printing and binding prices. whateever saves you the most money in the long run is the way to go.

Remi: Yeah, spiral would be good because people could flip them over easy instead of breaking them apart from the beginning to hang them up. Should probably get a hole through the top too so people won't be afraid to tack them up. I'll probably have to add an inch or two of black to the top for that and the binding. Maybe make a line so people can crop them properly and frame them if they want to? I dunno, we'll see.

I'm going into the print shop tomorrow to get a sample calendar, then I'm going to take it to the post office and find out about shipping. I'll plan on taking a photo of the calendar to show you how it looks~

Love the clothes you drew them in. And that handbag and clip on the high wiz is so cute!! If I had to draw mine wearing modern day clothes I could see them in a variety of jeans, shoes, and tops--the gypsy would have a long flowy sleeved top with denim bell bottoms and silvery stilettos; biochem would be cute sweater with blue jeans wearing those same boots she wears in game; sniper would be baby tshirt and a short flowy demin skirt (not sure if you guys ever wore them but they were part denim and part fabric so it was flowy) and short boots, hp would be v-neck long sleeve pink shirt and a medium length black skirt with knee high heeled boots, and of course a black choker with a golden cross on it.

Anyways now that i went off on my tangent, LOL; again, have to say love the new piece ^__^

First of all, its perfect ;; I came to you with an unclear idea, giving you different versions of what I wanted and you took all of that and you made it into a beautiful picture. What is beautiful is the fact that there is a texture on this picture like watercolor paper which is nearly invisible but it adds a whole lot more.

I like how his colors are rubbing off on her, as if he was the light source n_n It's perfect. Its different from what you do and yay, it's all mine =D!!!!!<3

In between commissions I drew this sketch today of a ranger. I got rid of the frills and made it more streamline so she matches the male better. Don't get me wrong, I love frills but I think female rangers should look a bit more, I dunno, outdoors-ish? That frilly fabric would just get in the way, and what is with that WHITE UNDERWEAR they have over the top of their pants? Guess they had to make up for the fact that they're one of the few female classes who aren't wearing skirts. :x

I've never been fond of High Priest outfits and I'm hoping the Archbishop designs will be a bit more badass, though this ended up just looking like a cross between lolita wear and final fantasy clothing. Ahh, love that Ranger! I would actually play one if they looked like that! I kind of loled at the frills and outside thong thingie on the original art too... Why are the character designers so reluctant to give ANY female class proper pants? That's one of the reasons I crossdress. B < pants l/o. XD

The Archbishop looks badass. Those boots make her look like a real head buster, but the thing around her waist still gives her a nice feminine edge.

And that watercolor-ish cg for Moonie looks lovely. Especially the underlying texture. Makes it look like its painted on fabric or soft paper. Its good to see you drawing more secksii menfolk too. :B

I'm late on the pictures ToT! Thats what happens when I have sigs, avatars and pictures disabled at work, I cant spend time in the art section. Your ranger is awesome. She has a theif look and army pants. Action pose ! Even the little sketch on the top left is adorable (even if she has pink frills ;>!) Reminds me a bit of some final fantasy tactics /love. That gypsy on bottom left is hot.

Archbishop. A few did some designs already, which were awesome. Yours is really great as well. She looks very fonctionnal in battle, with a dash of holyness. I can see the design on her top like the male high priests clothes, with the big ribbon from high priestesses. And I agree, we need more blue. I should make my version of that someday ;3!

The coloring on the mastersmith and Biochem is so vibrant, I love it. Her shoulderpads are giving out hearts, how cool is that. The toxic potion is almost spilling on the mastersmith XD!! I need that beltbuckle. (side note, you even got a comment from swifthand, ;D!)

Aaaaah so thats how a stalker looks like. I've been drawing paul without a reference, I guess i was a little close. Maximo looks great and I love it how the bottom of his robe, cloak, furry thing, fades out in the bottom. Almost like his smoke is clouding up the place.

Looking at the large version you PMed me, I can really see the trouble you went to with the details... The different shades of blue in Tyr's hair, the shading on Tristan's muscles, the texture of the different fabrics (the velvet look of Tristan's shirt as opposed to the furry trim on Tyr's coat, etc.) and even Tyr's birdie... Lovely!

You really captured their personalities too. Tristan's optimism and love of a good fight, and the shy prettiness of Tyr that clings to him even when he's trying to be badass... xD

Update: HAY GUESS WHAT? I FAILED AT WORK ORZ ... no really, my boss and I both realized that I wasn't well versed enough in Illustrator (or on any of the programs he had) to continue working there. There's no hard feelings between us--he let me have the calendars I printed for free! That made me really happy. i got my calendar! it was in my mailbox when i got home on the 30th. i was worried it might get bent if it got shoved in there, but it was all good. the quality is wonderful. you really got a nice printer to do them for you. the only thing that's missing is a little diecut/drilled hole in the top for easy hanging! XD that would be quite the extra cost though and it's not a big deal. i used my extreme art school crit mounting skills to pin it up on our corkboard without putting pinholes in it!

Yeah, I was really happy with the one for Kyra! And the French actually makes sense! It's one of the better pencil sketches I've done for sure.

I think it's funny about the perspective on the Inkyu-Beez picture because well .. it looked so wrong to me at first but now I see it and I'm like 'Hey, it looks good!' xD And Inkyu looka like a WOMAN but that's how I like 'em. :>

The merchant looks so innocent and pudgey(which is my favorite part of your work!) and the commission is really amusing to look XD I really like their facial expressions and the shading.

Gah, I already told you but I'll tell you again, I LOVE that portrait of Tristan. Even without his face showing, he looks so thoughtful and dreamy. I envy you for being able to do diffused colors so elegantly. And the way the light reflects off of his dark skin is very /slur worthy... I swear I didn't invent him that way, but I'm glad chicks dig him. D;

The Wiz girl is adorable too! I've always hated the female Wizard outfit, but it looks better from this perspective, especially with the extra-furry cape. I love her yellow hair too. Very cherubic. xD

@Sevi: Yeah, I kind of amazed myself with that one. 99% of my art is drawn without reference, and this one was no exception surprisingly. The perspective is bang on. :>

oh god, so i'm finally commenting on the Tristan and wizzy pictures, i scroll down to check out Tristan again and it's a thumb of the wiz D: anyway! from what i remember of it it looked nice. it had a nice mood for a roughy thingy. and i was wondering if it was an airship shot? that's what i got out of it.

and i really like that wizzy girl. i hate the sprite for them, i think they're hidious, but dont mind the concept art so much. you made her look so cute and fluffy. i always love perspective shots like that, you pulled it off well. loveloveloveit.

Thats a really cute merchi. So pink, and the green makes it a nice contrast. That type of little character, i could easily see in children's books or in a magazine. I think its the feet/legs that remind me of that for some reason. I just love them *_*!

Didnt comment on this one yet. I love their interaction. The sinx looks annoyed to hell, having the little slits in his eyes instead of big round pupils like the high priest. I love the little white dots everywhere. Reminds me of CLAMP and it just makes the picture sparkle. Can in be in the sinx' spot instead? ;;

The high wizardess is really nice, especially at that angle. I always had difficulty in drawing something down like that, but always loved to see other artist tackle it and get away with something good looking. That is a picture I shall hide from my boyfriend lol. :<!!! I WONDER WHY!
