Signature Limit questions for the Art community!

We're trying to find a good happy medium for signature limits. So I'm asking y'all what you think.

The problem with sigs is you have your banners...your squares, rectangles, etc...

It's really hard to find a good common ground.

To help, I've gone around the forums and picked out random sizes:

This one is 400x100:

We're learning towards 600x175, but some seem to like 500x150 too...

Might need to have two definitions of sizes, one for "banners" one for "boxes"

I think 500x200 is the enough.

If you really feel the need to put a limit... my vote goes to 500x175, not too restrictive but prevents huge images.

I just start with a 500 x 200 when I make my sigs in photoshop... put them together, and then whatever size they end up being, I crop to fit (that's why the size dimensions are so... odd... xD

But yeah, definitely 500 x 200 is the largest sig I would make (maybe a bit more length-wise, but not height).

So if we "suggested" the limit be 500x175 but hard coded the upload limit at 600x200 that allows for some leeway?

That sounds more than fair enough and I couldn't see anyone having a problem with that. How big can the file size be though? For those animated sigs and junk.

I'm gonna suggest 200kb...
