Laptop fan makes noise

I've been having this problem for a bit, it's an annoying grinding noise but my laptop doesn't freeze up or anything. I thought the fan was touching something so I decided to open my laptop (man was that a bitch) and found that everything was fine, not that much dirt very minimal. I've had this laptop for about 2 years. What do you guys suggest should I buy a new fan or replace the thermal paste (if that does anything) or put oil on the spindle of the fan? Anyone ever had this problem?

I'd say buy a new fan, the internal workings are going out it sounds like.

Depending on the model, you can actually get them off ebay, I got a used fan for mine that worked much better.
