The Recommendation Thread
« on: September 10, 2007, 08:10:40 PM »
The basic idea of this thread is for people who are watching anime, but don't really know what to look for. You can ask others to give you some ideas for you to check out. When you ask for something to watch make sure you tell us what kind of genres you're into, and some other stuff you've seen so we know what you like.

There was an anime on cartoon network two or three years ago. I forget the name of it or any names of the main characters but if yall know anything of what the hell im talkin about please tell me what show it is.
All's i remember is some lil tiny dude with a pacifier in his mouth always talkin about the "spirit world" and the main character did some spirit finger attack. They were always going to fighting tournaments n killing off demons (typical). Oh and there was some lil dude with black hair and a third eye on his forehead.

Anyone know what the name to this anime is?

Anywhere I look only has up to chapter 38 done. Baka-updates doesn't even have it listed saying that chapter 39 and 40 were even done.

I myself, never get into watching anime online.
I get easily distracted, I think Deathnote is the only expection.

Animes I recommend that i've watched : Loveless and Paradise Kiss.
These are very shōjo however ~

While I'll agree that a lot of more recent stuff has been fairly bad, there are a few good shows in there. Although a lot of older stuff was more about the story and not the actual animation aspect.

Eh, it's like finding a needle in a haystack. And I actually prefer some of the animation styles of the Late 80's/early 90's stuff, a lot of anime now have identical styles; and everything is too "clean" for my liking. I've always been amazed at how fantastic some of OVAs looked when they were the trendy thing to do. The best example I have are Char's CA, 0083, and 8th MS Team. I have not seen a mecha in the past decade that seems even close to the level Sunrise was at in 1989. Of course they're OVAs/movies, and animators are given more time to do them, but there has been some serious crap on the air. And that sucks. D:

Actually I prefer all the older gundam type stuff to the newer stuff as well. Even the shows. The original gundam, zeta. All that stuff was just better I thought.
