The Photography Thread
« on: March 11, 2009, 06:28:25 AM »
Amidst the flood of Anime-ish fanart and drawings, I thought it would be interesting start up an art thread that would be slightly different from the other ones found in this forum; photography. Now, when I say photography, I don't mean grabbing your cell phone and shooting a picture of your dog, your house, or yourself. I mean taking interesting or dynamic shots of things with a higher end digital camera, or if you're rich, a digital SLR camera.

The above picture wasn't taken by me, but it was just an example.

Have you taken an up-close picture of a spider, a beautiful landscape, or a flowing river? Want others to see it? Post it here. You can post a picture of anything, but the only thing that I don't think will be tolerated here is nudity (even if it is tasteful).

Cool idea!  I hardly take photos anymore.  Some old stuff from when I was still in high school:

The hall to the right of the Alamo in San Antonio.  Shot it for a student photo contest ... I think it won 2nd place in the Architecture category.

Both are from the Temple of the Emerald Buddha in Bangkok, Thailand.

From my temple in Houston during the Songkran (Thai New Year) festival.

This is back when people still developed film and digital cameras were (almost) non-existent.  I miss my old Canon!  Too bad it broke.

I'd love to get my hands on a slr camera, or get the chance to do photography.
Resplendent your shots are gorgeous, specially of the one w/ the palms and the man looking out into the distance so beautiful.
I love pictures of the sky and sunsets, I wish I had to decent camera to capture beauty in things most people ignore.

Idk if these count, but a few pictures that i've taken in the past I like.
It's fun trying to capture life, in somthing thats not actually alive at all.

I miss my doll now ;___;

I love those shutter shots Aiofe. First one is beautiful.

Love the 1st black and white too. The tone and atmosphere are awesome. Would love to see a bigger version.

Some olddd ones from an assignment I did a ways back.

Oh hey, a thread I can contribute to! I just got a Nikon D60 about 2 months ago. It's great fun but now I am wanting more lenses for it. I have a 18-55mm and a 50mm right now. I generally shoot with the 50mm. I've got a lot to learn, though.
