FS sage for WoE. Thoughts? Mage points, I'm undecided between FD and SP recovery (for boosting SP items.) Sage points, I'm not sure what else to get. Maybe max magic rod, though I'm unsure how useful it would be. Prolly max a couple of the endows. Don't want freecast.

As for stats... my first instinct was to go for 99 base dex and stun immune. But that's 97 vit, so only 12 int. I'm not sure if increasing the SP pool is terribly important, SP costs seem relatively cheap. Alternatively, maybe something more like 45 base int 85 base vit?

^It's a good skill build, be sure to get freecast level 1 in it.
Stat wise it depends; Are you leveling this on it's own with 45 int, or are you leeching it the whole way? If you're leeching it I would definitely  say, get 97 vit.  Any guild that has a fs sage should cover your sp expenses in full

Ok cool, thanks. Yeah, I'm leeching it. And rather not get freecast so I can anim cancel.

Do NOT get Spell Breaker 5. This is coming from someone who actually got it as a Scholar before, SB 5 is detrimental in WoE (though fun in biolabs).

One of the beauties of Spell Breaker is that getting spell broken leaves the target stuck in the mid-casting animation. This means he has to either walk, get hit, or use a self-targeted spell in order to be able to normally cast targeted spells again. But since SB 5 has a damage component, the target can simply spam click Storm Gust right after you SB him.

I don't know why animation cancelling would be more important than Freecast. Can you explain further why you need to do that?

Word, thanks for the tip on breaker.

Freecast, it just seemed like the more-useful choice, but this is my first sage so I don't know if there are any aftercast delays that one would want/need to cancel. Don't really see why I'd need to walk while casting and I assume freecast applies to instant spells as well, preserving the anim/delay if you move.

Okay, that clears things up. To answer your concern, you can still do animation cancelling while walking with Free Cast. Plus, animation cancelling doesn't matter for Sages anyways . . . unlike it would for DS dancing and the like.

Lastly, my memory on this one is fuzzy, but I do believe that casting non-instant spells automatically does anim cancel since the process of going back into mid-casting animation overrides the end of casting animation. Eitherway, it's still negligible for sages.

What's the earliest to start on Mi Gaos or Stings? I'm thinking Stings are better for exping on though...

As soon as you get FW 10 (though lower levels of FW can work on Mi Gaos). Stings are faster exp, but Mi Gaos are a lot safer. Normally, I'd try my luck at Mi Gaos, even before getting FW 1. Try to find a kiter to party with and it's smooth sailing until you get FW.

What's the difference between level 1 & level 10 Hocus Pocus?

It just makes the skill of each of the random hocus pocus skill stronger.

For example, if you for some reason get ice bolt, level 10 HP makes it a level 10 ice bolt.
