Watched Yamada and the Seven Witches, quite liked it, some of the plots were generic and dull and some of the characters were too side-character trope, but I thought the main plot and characters were fairly strong and it was kind of nice to see a generic romance anime where the lead girl was actually not all "perfect" and wishy-washy, she was just another character like any other, though I got to say,
I was shipping Nene the whole time and rip her pointless sad ending q.q
The concept of some of the witches was really well done, I thought, the charm, body switching, and seventh witch particularly. The future and past vision powers I think could have been done a bit better, but were still interesting takes on them. Telepathy, the president's aid, and power-erasing were all a little underdeveloped and shitty.
But there was so much kissing! I've been watching anime for a long time and it seems like in the past couple of years, there's been some sort of sexual revolution in Japan because they're actually putting public displays of affection and sexual references pretty openly in anime and the "demure girl next door who just wants senpai to notice her" seems to be a (thankfully) dying genre.
Watched Kokoro Connect after Yamada and the Seven Witches (it was recommended on the side) and I have to say, it was a much stronger show than I was anticipating. The last arc was really weakly developed and a little repetitive in terms of dialogue and themes and Nagase's character practically begs for a second season, but I was still really impressed. Possibly one of the darkest shows I've ever watched WHERE NOTHING BAD EVER ACTUALLY HAPPENS. Also if you don't read the novels/manga, Heartseed is just fucking creepy because what the fuck.
Anyway, the point of all this was, what should I watch next? (long manga is cool too, I like reading manga as long as there's like 10 volumes out)
Any for anyone wondering what they should watch, you should watch Yuri Kuma Arashi because it's pretty much the best anime of all time. ALL TIME.
