Default SkullCap+TSoD vs GSoD Comparison

I would just like to ask: At what upgrade level would the TSoD[w/ +7Skull Cap combo] need to be such that damage output would be similar/equal to that when a +7GSoD is used? I want a rough estimate of how well/poor it performs so I would know whether or not to go through much hassle just to get one.

Skull Caps are very much rare in our server [limited release during a Ragnarok Philippine Championship event, I believe] and thus its hard to acquire one. The sorcerer section of our forums isn't that active either, so no damage tests have been published yet.

I guess you need some stats for some rough computation, so here's mine [w/o Upper HG and Weapon]:

INT: 110 base + 10 job + 10 bless + 30 food + 2 equip= 162
DEX: 118 base + 7 job + 10 bless + 30 food + 15 equips/cards = 180
MATK equips: Entweihen Crothen [100 eqMATK] + Orleans's Necklace/Gloves combo [40 eqMATK + 2% MATK]

We really don't need your stats nor equipments since the assumption is the comparison of the 2 sets (TSOD+SC vs GSOD) will be done for the same character. That said, let's look at the basics:

TSOD:
base MATK = 160

GSOD:
base MATK = 210

The skull cap combo gives +10 MATK for every upgrade of TSOD, which means +5 TSOD = +0 GSOD (this is just base MATK discussion). So theoretically, +7 GSOD = +12 TSOD in terms of base MATK (just an estimation, I'm lazy doing real computations). That doesn't even include the other bonuses of GSOD (bonus %MATK to demi human, destruction bonus). So clearly, it would take high upgrades of the TSOD to reach GSOD levels, however this is for DEMI-HUMAN only.

The only advantage of the TSOD is it's not restricted to demi-human, plus you can wear a shield.

+12? That high? LOL. I guess I should have never expected much from this combo set. The highest weapon upgrades our server currently have are at +11, majority as prizes from siege contests or ultra low-rate raffles and not to mention they are so few [more or less around 10 across the whole server].

Regarding the bonus %MATK to demi-humans and the destruction bonus, where would I apply it? statusMATK, eqMATK or both?

Bonus +% matk applies to every part of matk. sMATK eqMATK and wMATK.

Although the damage is somewhat inferior, but the bonus of having a shield is tremendous.

Equipment MATK and Weapon MATK will add up between themselves unless it's implied otherwise...

GSoD damage will be higher thanks to the %MATK bonus, while TSoD Combo is good for the +MATK bonus...

Especially since you have a lot of +MATK gear already, the +%MATK from the GSoD would be more beneficial than the flat bonus of the TSoD

instead of tsod skull cap combo, try using gsod and red pom hat. A red pom gives +5% matk by itself and every upgrade 6 or higher will add +% to human(not demi human). This is as stated in my server.

Say for example you have a +9 red pom hat of caster, you get +4% to human

I guess the formula might be like this:

(Equipment MATK + Weapon MATK) x 7%matk) x 4% to human)

I dont know how accurate this formula is but it has been really reliable for me

+ %demi human goes between +matk and +%human

I'm not sure about the exact numbers but +8 TSoD was a complete loss compared to +9 GSoD. But that's quite obvious.
With the demihuman bonus on GSoD, I think it's safe to say it should take at least +11 or 12 TSoD to be even comparable to a +7GSoD considering as well the overupgrade bonus/variance.

But TSoD lets you wear a shield though, which is invaluable in WoE.
