Sakray Renewal Server

- User Interface has been changed.

Contents

- User interface design has been updated.
- Shortcut key customization added (To customize hit esc -> game options->shortcut customize)
- Dialog window is by default non active.
- Press enter to activate the dialog window, and escape to cancel typing.
- F1 ~ F9, Alt, and Control combination can be used while dialog window is active.
- With the customize function available, battle mode has been removed.

Design

- Basic Information window design has changed.
- Option icons are located below the basic information window.
- Friends and party window now have additional details.
- On the skill window it now displays additional info on one line.
- The equipment window and status window have been combined into one.
- Option window has been added. To access press escape, where you can access the graphics, sound, and short cut key options, as well as character select/exit game.
- The window that appears on death is now updated.
- The dialog window is updated. The display is now different if the dialog window is active or not.
- 1:1 chat and dialog window have been given a new transparent design.

Function

- All existing ragnarok shortcut keys can be customized on the shortcut key window.
- You can now use esc to close open windows as well as the input window.

Other

- Some features that were deemed low usage have been removed (skill level adjustment, minimap magnification).
- Because the equipment and status window have been combined, the shortcut keys have changed (Alt+A shortcut has been removed).

Planned changes

- A 4th skill bar will be added.
- Other changes based on your feedback.

Moved to correct thread

Appears we got another interface renewal

1) Equips and Stats is merged. There is tab for minimizing stats window. (shortcut is Alt+Q, Alt+A doesn't work anymore)
2) Opens Options window. Options window got slightly changed to include sprite edit.
3) Opens Sound window. Sound window is isolated from options window to be on its own.
4) Opens Commands Window.
>> Tab1 is Function shortcuts, Tab2 is window shortcuts, Tab3 is Alt/Ctrl +Number shortcuts.
>> There is a 4th Bar now. Allocations for keys is made through the command Tab1 window.
5) Nothing special, just exit game but its in Korean for the curious.
6) F12 no longer rotate between Function Bars. To see other Function Bars, one need to "drag" down the corner.

New Info display window. Shows HP/SP as Percentage (%) and rearrangement of buttons.
Chat Window only enables when Enter is pressed. Otherwise it remains hidden and invisible as shown.
>> Since it is possible for the command window allocations to overlap typing keys, this is the new permanent battle mode.

First of all : damn, they're really making the interface so much better, well done

However :

Does that mean we cant use SG1 anymore but only the max level SG we know (not even select the skillevel with the mousewheel)?
If thats true this is terrible The selection of skillevel was very useful for fast castings or conserving sp.
Same with the minimap magnification, i liked that feature.

I rarely used minimap magnification, so I don't care if it is removed.
And yay 4th skill bar.

EDIT : according to the above screenshots, the +- signs located next to the minimap still exist....are they not working anymore and just sat there doing nothing?

Yes atum, the mousewheel still reduces de skill level used. dont know what they meant by skill level adjustement.

Soul link, the + and - stll on the minimap, they removed the "map" button on the "alt+v" window..that was really useless.

Nice changes ! really nice, but, pressing enter every time i want to say something in prontera is kind lame. Well, i can get used to it.

Does space also activate the dialog window? I never learned to use enter instead of space when using bm and chatting

Oh well, not that I play anymore anyway.

so basically we now get all the standard battle mode keys, including the F-keys for skills? or will it be the number row that's the 4th bar?

And we'll now have to assign a skill for each particular key? How's that going to work with armor/weapon switching and potion/item usage?

Here is a picture of some of the main window updates

You can still change skill levels in the original window view for skills.


Mini-Map zoom also still works.


Emotions now have 3 pages.


Shortcuts also has 3 pages.


You can minimize the stats so all you see is gear.


Or you can minimize gear.

You can also minimize both for a single bar like before.

And for those who have not seen it, storage was also updated.

You use enter to open the dialogue box, space does not work.

yeah, I do hope they keep the zoom on the minimap. It makes going through mazes (Giearthes map was a pain without it) easier.

It's really simple. You assign hotkeys for each position on the shortcut bar. So 1-1 on the shortcut bar is default to F1, all the way to 1-9 (bar 1 skill 9) defaults to F9, as it is with existing RO. You can change those, and additionally assign 2-1 -> 2-9, 3-1 -> 3-9, and 4-1 -> 4-9 to what ever keys you want. If you really wanted to you could just bind the same keys as battlemode, but some people might want to use additional options. You can use key combinations, such as ctrl-1, shift-1 for hotkeys for example.

While this is indeed awesome, suddenly all my precious skins go to hell. Oh no
But oh well, whatever. Everything looks awesome so far, so I can forgive them... even though playing on 640x480 is going to be a bit harder.
I wonder why they released this update out of their usual schedule, though.

DO NOT like permanent battle mode. This is one of the most annoying things I've found about other games, every time I go to type it starts opening windows and I'm like asdfg I need to hit enter to type AGAIN? It's something I always loved about RO, that it is a chat-first-game-second experience. ;/

additional note

I fine people are 99% less social on those games that have the permanent battle mode. :/

well.. if they fixed the whole ii ccaann''tt ssppeeaakk nnoorrmmaallyy bug then its really awesome.. even out of bm mode i still press enter before speaking and i have bm as soon as i log in.
