Which would be stronger for mvping?

A +8 Durga with AK card or

A +8 Blood Tears with 2 AK cards?

I just checked ragnastate, on that, a liberation durga would only be better then a double liberation blood tear if your str is in the 200+ range, and I probably won't be having 2 megs anytime soon, I'll probably go with blood tears unless someone proves to me what actual damage would be.

^^ that doesnt sound right.

Take 100 str as an example. w.atk + upgrade + katar mastery + bsb + flamelord ring

+8 Dulga (285 + 40+30+50+15 = 420)x 1.25 = 525
+8 b.tears (180 + 56+30+50+15= 331)x 1.5 = 496

Keep in mind EDP widens the gap in favor of Dulga too, as does str. Unless your using +atk buffs like striking from another class.

I'm gonna go with Durga because with temporary atk items its a slight bit more with durga.

Keep in mind AK cards are 25% and not 20%.

thats just to show base attack + 50% (1.5x damage) for two AK cards. Theres a few factors i didnt include in the calculation so its not 100% accurate but i think its close enough. Saves 300m on a second AK card too.

With the huge buff to MvP matk, a dagger/sword and shield might be better for solo MvPing anything after the first set of easy few.

For example, Drake's waterball has a base damage around 5-6k per. I haven't played an end-level GX, but I'm thinking it'd still be outpottable even with a water armor. Other MvPs have even higher damage spells.

rather keep katar on and use specialty card/equip, like 30% resist garment cards and such.

I guess it's your choice. On Drake, with water armor and a -30% garment, one waterball round would hit for around 22-26k. Even though he basically spams waterball throughout the fight, I suppose this could be manageable with higher base vit/hp. It would be costly, though, since his HP is about triple of pre-renewal.

However, for the harder MvPs, I don't think just an elemental armor and a -30% garment is going to work, when the spells are hitting you for triple the previous damage.

Leafcat
marse
water resist potion

That's 60% resist
if you have kvm rings, thats 80%
if marse on nyd garm thats 87%

That's true. The base waterball damage per round is around 100-125k and why I said it was managable without shield. With that gear setup, you can get the waterball damage down to under 10k if you also use the appropriate elemental armor (e.g. swordfish valk or cornutus water armor).

However, when you are fighting a med/hard mvp and their base damage spell is 200-300k (like JT), I don't think the reduction without shield (e.g. alice) will be enough.
