MvP is against the boss monsters, it stands for Most Valuable Player. It has no real meaning to the activity of "MvP", but you know the monster you just killed is a boss when someone got the big "MvP" notice above their head when it died. Hence the name MvP. There are also boss-flagged monsters that do not have an MvP reward, and thus no MvP bubble, and as a result are not called "MvPs". Kinda confusing, yeah.

PvM stands for player versus monster, a term that never originated in the game. It's simply a derivative of PvP (player versus player), because people needed a name for the usual, mobby monster hunt activity.

When looking at stat build types, which is what I think you're going at, it's how you're building your character

Examples:
1. Making a MVP champ, which specializes in 1 shotting MVPs.

2. Making a PVM sage to level fast. Built around getting to 99 as fast as possible.

3. Making pure WoE characters. May have extreme builds like 100 vit on a class like a sinx. Doesn't really excel in other aspects of the game, but does a superb job in WoE.

What don't you understand? Both of those posts pretty accurately explain the general meaning behind those two terms.

Ah, I think Sora meant that the characters can also be classfied into 3 types depending on what they wanted to do.

ok..

PvM - means Player vs Monster... A build labeled as a PvM build is usually a fast killing build to level fast

MVP - means killing bosses due to the fact then when a boss monster is killed a certain player get the "mvp" based on various factors like damage done and such. An MVP build is a build that is focused around killing the boss monsters.

Just one more thing: MVP doesn't mean Monster vs. Player.

It's his doubt, I believe.

Default Re: What's the Difference between MvP and PvM?

PVM = Player Versus Monster
PVP = Player Versus Player
MVP* = Most Valuable Player
WoE = War of Emperium

*MVPs are Bossflagged monsters, which have a long time spawn. Upon death they award the Most Valuable Player (Rather, the one who took and dealt the most damage) a bonus item, or experience. Hence, MVP.

A ____** Build, is a build focusing on that specific aspect of the game.

**Replace _____ with one of the 4 abbreviations above.

A better term is PvE instead of PvM, to avoid confusion with MVP.

If you don't quite get what MVP is about in contrast to PvE, look here:

Maybe because the sole environment is "complete boredom" that you have to deal with while grinding this game.
