Default 08/31/2011 - Class Balance Changes

Common Patch

- Summer event has ended.
- While Severe Rainstorm is active you can no longer change arrows.

Main Server

- Started the new school year event.
  • [Event01]: Bonus experience and drop rate + 50% for 2 weeks.
  • [Event02]: Netcafe exclusive event, Netcafe users can access a exclusive dungeon for 2 weeks.
- Changed the status resistance formula. Level difference penalty is reduced, and Freeze/Stone status ailments are now resisted with magic defense.
- Party bonus experience system is changed from 10% bonus per member starting at 3 players to 20% bonus per member starting at 2 players.
- Tao Gunka card's "Def/MDef - 50" option is changed to "Reduces all item physical/magical defense by 50%".
- High Priest card is changed from autocasting Assumptio Lv 1 to casting Assumptio Lv 5.
- Homunculus improvement update is applied.
  • As part of the update, homunculus Lua AI files will be reset. Old files will be moved to the AI_Backup folder.
  • As part of the update, mercenary Lua AI files will be reset. Old files will be moved to the AI_Backup folder.
- Spiral pierce damage formula is changed.
- Acid Bomb damage formula is changed.
- Guillotine Fist use penalty has changed, and skill description is updated.
- Added 'point' catalyst item merchants in several different locations.
- 3rd job skill balance from the long term Sakray test is applied to main servers. It may be an inconvenience, but the purpose of the update is to improve lesser used skills and to balance excessively strong ones. Please familiarize yourself with the skill balance changes.

Sakray Test Server

- Philippines localized map "Port Malaya" is added.
  • Port Malaya has 1 regular dungeon and 3 instanced memorial dungeon maps.
  • Port Malaya has 2 field maps.
  • Port Malaya field and dungeons have monsters level 100 ~ 150.
  • Please see and test the various quests monsters and dungeons in the localized map.

Skill Balancing Changes

The following skill balance changes are changes being applied to main servers from the previous Sakray test session.

Rune Knight
  • Enchant Blade
    • Changed from single target to self targeted.
    • Increased damage formula is changed.
  • Hundred Spear
    • Casting time is changed.
    • Damage formula is changed.
  • Ignition Break
    • Damage formula is changed.
  • Rune Stone Items
    • Verkana Runestone
      • Duration is changed (300s -> 180s).
    • Raido Runestone
      • Using the rune stone will enchant your weapon. On your next physical melee attack, you will auto-cast Crush Strike, and then the effect will be removed.
    • Noseige Runestone
      • When used, it recovers and protects against status effects for 60 seconds.
      • HP recovered when using the runestone is 25%.
      • The debuffs removed are as follows:
        • Stun, Blind, Curse, Stone, Poison, Sleep, Silence, Bleeding, Chaos, Frozen, Deep Sleep, Burning, Freeze (Frost Mist), Diamond Dust
        • All guillotine Cross poisons
        • Marsh of Abyss (Warlock Skill)
        • Howling of Mandragora (Genetic Skill)
    • Turisus Runsestone
      • Duration has changed.
    • Hagalaz Runestone
      • For the duration of the skill, the physical and magic defense increase is affected by JobLv and Rune Mastery Level.
      • Duration has changed.
    • Isia Runestone
      • Duration has changed.
    • Aesir Runestone
      • Duration has changed (300s -> 180s).
    • Pertz Runestone
      • Storm blast damage formula changed.
Guillotine Cross
  • Dark Illusion
    • Skill range is changed (4 + SkillLv cells).
    • Can now be used in siege.
  • Counter Slash
    • Damage formula is changed (Damage is now increased by users BaseLv, Agi, and JobLv).
  • Halucination Walk
    • The HP cost when using the skill is changed.
  • Rolling Cutter
    • Damage formula changed.
    • Damage dealt is now increased by your BaseLv.
    • At level 5 the area of effect increases from 3x3 to 5x5.
  • Cross Ripper Slasher
    • Skill range is increased (8 + SkillLv cells).
    • Damage formula is changed (Damage is now increased by BaseLv and AGI).
  • Poison Smoke
    • The success rate is increased.
    • When using poison smoke, you no longer lose the poisoning weapon effect.
Arch Bishop
  • Clementia
    • SP cost has changed (280/320/360).
    • Based on your job level, it can add an additional 1 ~ 5 Str/Int/Dex.
  • Canto Candidus
    • SP cost is changed (200/220/240).
    • Based on your job level, it can add an additional 1 ~ 5 Agi.
  • Coluceo Heal
    • SP cost is changed (200/220/240)
    • The amount of HP healed increases with more party members.
    • Skill cooldown time is changed.
  • Praefatio
    • SP cost is changed (80 + SkillLv * 10).
    • The defense power of the barrier is increased with more party members.
  • Lauda Agnus
    • Now also removes Burning, Freeze (Frost Mist) and Diamond Dust status effects.
    • Skill success rate is increased.
  • Lauda Ramus
    • Now also removed Howling of Mandragora and Deep Sleep status effects.
    • Skill success rate is increased.
  • Clearance
    • Now also removes the Critical Wounds status effect.
    • Skill success rate is increased.
  • Expiatio
    • Changed from self targeted to self and other players.
    • Highness Heal
    • Skill cooldown time is decreased.
Warlock
  • White Imprison
    • Skill cancellation conditions have changed.
      • Before: Struck with ghost element magic damage.
      • After: Struck with ghost element damage.
    • Can now be cancelled with the Priest skill 'Status Recovery'.
  • Recognized Spell
    • SP cost is increased (80 + SkillLv * 20).
    • Skill cooldown time is decreased.
    • Skill duration is changed (30 + SkillLv * 30 seconds).
  • Comet
    • SP cost is changed (400 + SkillLv * 80).
    • Skill fixed cast time is changed.
    • Skill cooldown time is changed.
    • Global cooldown is changed.
    • If there is a warlock party member nearby (7x7), then comet will deal max damage to all targets in range.
  • Chain Lightning
    • Damage formula is changed.
    • The amount of damage increases with each chain hit.
  • Earth Drive
    • Skill range is changed (3 cells -> 6 cells).
  • Summon Fireball/Waterball/Ball Lightning/Stone
    • Skill duration is changed.
  • Reading Spellbook
    • Skill fixed cast time is changed.
    • Skill variable cast time is changed.
    • Skill reuse delay is removed.
Ranger
  • Arrow Storm
    • Damage formula is increased.
  • Cluster Bomb
    • Damage formula is changed.
  • Warg Bite
    • Damage formula is changed.
    • Success rate is changed.
    • Skill cooldown time is changed.
  • Maize/Cobalt/Magenta/Verdure Trap
    • Skill changed to use elemental 'point' items.
  • Firing Trap
    • Damage formula is changed.
    • Burning chance is increased.
  • Icebound Trap
    • Damage formula is changed.
    • Freezing chance is increased.
Mechanic
  • FAW Silver Sniper
    • Duration time is changed.
  • FAW Magic Decoy
    • Duration time is changed.
    • Skill changed to consume elemental 'point' items.
  • Shape Shift
    • Skill changed to consume elemental 'point' items.
    • Skill consumption of catalysts is increased.
  • Boost Knuckle
    • Skill variable cast time is changed.
    • Damage formula is changed.
    • Damage now scales with the users BaseLv.
  • Pile Bunker
    • Debuff chance is decreased.
    • Range is changed (3 cells -> 3/4/5 cells).
    • Now also removes the following buffs: Gentle Touch: Convert, Gentle Touch: Revitalize, Reflect Shield, Defender, Reflect Damage, Prestige, Banding.
  • Vulcan Arm
    • Global cooldown is changed.
    • Damage formula is changed.
    • Damage now scales with the users BaseLv.
    • Now deals damage in a 3x3 cell area.
  • Arm Cannon
    • SP cost is changed (40/50/60 sp).
    • Variable casting time is changed.
    • Skill range is changed (9/11/13 cells).
    • Damage formula is changed.
    • Damage now scales with the users BaseLv.
  • Acceleration
    • Duration time is changed.
  • Hovering
    • Duration time is changed.
    • Now allows you to ignore the effects of Fire Walk, Electric Walk, and Vacuum Extreme.
  • Mainframe Remodel
    • The defense bonus is increased.
      • Before: 4/7/11/15.
      • After: 40/60/80/100.
    • Overheat limit is changed (From 100 -> 150).
  • Self Destruction
    • Fixed cast time is changed.
    • Variable cast time is changed.
    • Skill cooldown time is changed.
    • Damage formula is changed.
    • Damage now scales with the users BaseLv.
    • Now consumes 3 Mado fuel.
    • Skill now no longer has an SP requirement to cast.
  • Cooldown
    • The fuel cost of the skill is changed from 2 to 1.
    • The Overheat Point decrease by the cooling device is changed.
  • Infrared Scan
    • Skill fixed cast time is removed.
    • Skill success rate is now 100%.
    • Players that were detected will have their evasion lowered for 5 seconds.
  • Magnetic Field
    • The fuel cost of the skill is changed from 3 to 2.
    • Skill area of effect is changed from 3x3/5x5/7x7 cells to 5x5 cells fixed.
    • The SP drain is now fixed 50 per second.
    • Earth element damage and quagmire will cancel Magnetic Field.
  • Neutral Barrier
    • Skill variable cast time is removed.
    • Skill reuse delay is now 90 seconds.
    • Skill area of effect is changed from 3x3 cells to 5x5 cells.
  • Stealth Field
    • SP cost is changed (80/100/120).
    • Variable cast time is removed.
    • Skill reuse delay is changed.
    • Skill area of effect is changed (3x3 cells -> 5x5 cells).
    • The SP cost over time is changed (3 seconds 1% / 4 seconds 1% / 5 seconds 1%).
    • Ranged damage reduction is changed from 30% to 20%.
  • Repair
    • Variable cast time is changed.
    • Skill range is changed (4 + SkillLv cells).
    • Item consumed by the skill has changed.
      • Before: All levels 1 Fuel
      • After: Level 1, 2 : Repair A (1) / Level 3 ~ 4 : Repair B (1) / Level 5 : Repair C (1)
    • The HP recovered by the skill is changed.
      • Before: 6/9/12/15/18%
      • After: 4/7/13/17/23%
Shadow Chaser
  • Invisible
    • Skill SP cost is changed.
      • Before: 5/4/3/2/1%
      • After: 10/8/6/4/2%
    • Detecting skills will no longer cancel Invisible.
  • All Masquerade skills
    • No longer affects boss type monsters.
  • Manhole
    • Can only be used on Siege maps and PVP enabled maps.
  • Dimension Door
    • Now only affects you or your own party.
  • Bloody Lust
    • No longer caused provoke status, but berserker status.
    • Can only be used on siege maps and PVP enabled maps.
  • Feint Bomb
    • Skill effect has changed to hide you before performing the backstep.
  • Reproduce
    • Skills copied through reproduce now have twice the SP cost.
  • Shadow Form
    • Detecting skills have a chance to cancel Shadow Form.
  • Deadly Infect
    • Success rate is decreased.
    • Changed to only work when used with short ranged attacks.
Royal Guard
  • Reflect Damage
    • The reflect rate is changed.
    • A number of reflect limit is added.
    • SP cost is changed (80/100/120/140/160).
    • The SP drain while active is changed.
    • Changed to only reflect short ranged attacks (will not reflect trap damage).
  • Pinpoint Attack
    • SP cost is changed (30->50).
    • Damage formula is changed.
  • Exceed Break
    • Skill fixed cast time is changed.
    • SP cost is changed (20/32/44/56/68).
    • Damage formula is changed.
  • Overbrand
    • SP cost is changed (32/44/56/68/72).
  • Ray of Genesis
    • SP cost is changed (60/65/70/75/80).
  • Inspiration
    • SP cost is changed (80/90/100/110/120).
    • The amount of bonus stats is changed.
    • The amount of bonus attack power is changed.
    • The skill requires 1% experience in order to cast. If you do not have that experience, you cannot activate the skill.
Sura
  • Gate of Hell
    • Deals additional damage when cast as part of a combo.
  • Crescent Elbow
    • Duration time is changed.
    • Activation rate is changed.
    • The bonus knockback damage is changed.
  • Lightning Walk
    • Duration time has changed.
    • Activation rate is changed.
  • Howling Lion
    • SP cost is changed (80/90/100/110/120).
  • Lightning Ride
    • Casting time and skill reuse time are increased.
  • Pressure Point: Cure
    • Skill reuse time is changed.
    • HP recovery amount is changed.
  • Pressure Point: Energy Gain
    • Skill fixed cast time is changed.
  • Pressure Point: Convert
    • Skill reuse time is changed.
    • Max HP decrease amount changed.
    • Consumes an amount of spheres equal to skill level used.
  • Pressure Point: Revitalize
    • Consumes an amount of spirit spheres equal to skill level used.
    • Max HP increase changed.
    • The bonus defense gained is changed.
    • Fixed casting time is changed (1s/1.5s/2s/2.5s/3s).
Wanderer/Maestro
  • Swing Dance
    • The bonus attack speed is changed from being based on your JobLv to your level of Lessons learned.
  • Moonlit Serenade
    • Magic attack power increase formula is changed.
  • Windmill Rush
    • Physical attack power increase formula is changed.
  • Reverberation
    • The limit to the number of reverberations you can place is removed.
  • Severe Rainstorm
    • Skill reuse delay is changed.
  • Despair Song
    • Can now be cured by the priest skill 'Status Recovery' and the Sura skill 'Lion Howl'.
    • Can no longer be placed at a target's feet.
  • Siren's Voice
    • Skill success rate is changed.
  • Deep Sleep Lullaby
    • Changed to be self targeted.
    • Area of effect is changed (11x11 / 13x13 / 15x15 / 17x17 / 19x19).
    • Skill success rate is changed.
    • The targets stats can lower the success rate.
    • Deep sleep can be cancelled by the Bishop skill 'Lauda Ramus', Sura skill 'Lion Howl' and Wanderer/Maestro skill 'Sound of Destruction'.
  • Circle of Nature
    • Can only be cast on yourself or your party members.
    • Can only be used on PVP enabled maps.
  • Gloomy Shyness
    • SP cost is changed (60/75/90/105/120).
    • Skill cooldown time is changed.
    • Evasion decrease rate changed.
    • Attack speed decrease rate changed.
    • When using the skill, has a low chance to halve movement speed, and cause the target to dismount from their Dragon/Gryphon/Pecopeco.
    • Now improves the rune knight skill 'Hundred Spear'.
    • Damage amplification formula is changed.
  • Great Echo
    • For each wanderer/minstrel in party above 2, deals additional damage.
    • Damage formula has changed.
  • Song of Mana
    • For each wanderer/minstrel in party above 2, increases sp recovery rate.
  • Dance with Warg
    • For each wanderer/minstrel in party above 2, increases the attack power and attack speed of Rangers and increases the bonus Warg attack damage.
  • Sound of Destruction
    • Skill reuse time is increased.
    • Changed from around a single target to ground targeted.
    • Skill area of effect is changed (9x9 / 9x9 / 11x11 / 11x11 /13x13).
    • Any bard or dancer based skill effect will be cancelled.
    • Success rate is changed.

  • Special Pharmacy
    • Base success rate changed.
  • Silent Breeze (Homunculus S Skill)
    • Duration is changed.
    • Causes 100% chance to be silenced, but will remove some other status effects.
  • Fire Expansion
    • Effect of level 1 and 2 are changed.
  • Hell's Plant
    • Damage formula is lowered.

I enjoy most of the balance changes, but the genetic ones make me sad because they make a non-godly genetic seem really weak now, what with thorn trap being difficult to use, howling being canceled easily, and hell's plant being weakened. You pretty much will have to have godlies to kill well with a genetic ;(

But I liked the changes. Especially this part:

It looks like some changes were not applied, like:

- Manhole: You cannot place a manhole overlapping an existing manhole.
- The damage radius of Comet slightly decreased.
- Increased the fixed and variable cast time of Arm Cannon.
- Infrared Scan: Skill reuse time decreased.

Also some changes on Ranger class were not applied.

Fine that the change that makes Neutral Barrier and Magnetic Field cooldown to 10 seconds wasn't implemented.

- Added a re-use delay for Yggdrasil seeds and Yggdrasil berries. (i Hope green ales too !!)

Dragon Howling


SP Cost reduced.
Fear duration increased.
Skill re-use delay reduced to 10 seconds at max level.

I'm just waiting for that information to reset my RK.

  • Pertz Runestone
    • Storm blast damage formula changed.

CS AND SB nerfed, now we need a high refined weapon.
I just hope that the events that do allow us to refine weapons to +9~14 without breaking.

That is a lot of changes to the skills. They might have forgotten to mention some, so there might be some secret changes to the skills.
I think it's not too long 'till iRO gets this patch. We will be able to test everything then. =DDD
